The Wurzels ORIGINAL PROMO FILM "Combine Harvester" No1 June 12th 1976

Hey Blackadder will be back tomorrow, we had some issues with the computer last night so to make it up to you we'll also be releasing a Micky Flanagan video for you today as well!

Comments

I drinks it all of the day! As a metal head, I'm a big fan of the Alestorm cover

Relyx

You guys should react to: "The Wurzels - Never Mind The Buzzcocks Christmas edition" Where do I post the links for consideration?

Darryl Glynn

Yeah, The Wurzels version did come after Melenie's "Brand new roller skates"

Darryl Glynn

Can’t wait 😂

Killermcknight

That was peak internet. The reaction we didn't know we needed. Exactly what those scientists had in mind when they invented the internet. You do realise we're all going off now to trawl through every novelty song that ever hit the British charts? Clive Dunn, the Tweets, Jilted John, Brian and Michael, Tight Fit, Renee and Renato, the St Winifred's School Choir and if you're really unlucky Black Lace?

Andy Darley

Apparently, some American folk singer called Melanie did a cheap knock-off version of this a few years before, about a pair of roller skates. I prefer the original 'scrumpy and western' version.

Steve Webster

I am a cider drinker. Seen them live a few times

Dan

They’re in my neck of the woods too. I’ve seen them live a couple of times. 😂🫣

Graham Bullman

😂😂 please tell me there’s a video

Killermcknight

Ooof, no, we missed getting that up it appears! We will try to get that one out today as well. Not sure how that happened, sorry about that.

Killermcknight

It’s soooo good

Killermcknight

Emily

Jules

I loves petes dragon as a kid.

Nothinghalo

Your connecting the Wurzels to the Wiggles might explain why this was my daughters favourite song as a young child. She loved the Wiggles as well.

David Burton

I forgotten how foot tapping that was. Not heard it in over 30 years . Lol

Karl 70

Lol. So random in it

Nothinghalo

Did I miss Tender by Blur? Thought that won a round of the polls?

Kaye

That be me accent, it's gert lush me babber! 😂 The Wurzels are pop culture here, because it's poking fun at ourselves. So you hear them at festivals a lot. A lot of farming events etc. They're still going strong to this day!

Emily

So did I 😂

Adam G

Just for Emily 💯👍

Adam G

Once headbanged to the Wurzels at a festival. Not an easy task, but it was alcohol assisted.

Just a small point based on pirate comment at end. Fictional pirates have a stereotypical accent because actor Robert Newton used an exaggerated West Country English accent, including a Cornish brogue, to play Long John Silver in the 1950 Disney film Treasure Island. This performance, full of emphasized Rs and characteristic phrases, was so iconic that it became the standard for pirate speech in popular culture, influencing many subsequent portrayals.

Ryan Lynch

Oh Jesus, here we go 🙉
