I'm Alan Partridge S1E2 Alan Attraction

Comments

Thanks for watching these, it's been so long since I have seen them! You guys are getting the British sense of humour, where awkwardness and uncomfortable situations are our comedy gold :D

James Jackaman

That’s been said before actually, and I’m quite surprised…. He’s hysterical.

Killermcknight

Have to say, didn't expect you guys to "get" Alan Partridge. Of all our best comedies, I always thought this was the one foreigners least appreciated. This will be my first time watching Alan in maybe 15 years, and the first time watching a reaction to it. Looking forward to the journey guys, and really glad you like this show. Steve Coogan is a legend, check out his impressions with Rob Brydon from WiLTY.

Jamie Chadaj

😂 almost had me

Some amazing episodes. I really can’t wait til you get the episode where they……. Haha only kidding. No spoilers from me.

Mark Rudd

Exactly. There are absolutely going to be references and certain things we don’t get, but humor is humor and this is just funny!

Re: the song in the car Gaudete. Gaudete. Christus est natus ex Maria virgine. Gaudete! Its a Latin medieval Christian song. In the 70s a folk rock band covered it and somehow it actually hit the charts. Translation Rejoice. Rejoice. Christ is born of the virgin Mary. Rejoice. I think the humour there is that it's kinda a bizarre song from the annals of chart history, but it's also just quite a funny song to play someone to impress them.

If you liked this episode, you'll 'effing love the next one

I love watching Americans watching what I consider proper British comedy and finding it funny. It debunks the snobby “Americans don’t get UK sense of Humour” trope. Funny is always funny.

Alan Partridge started out as a character on a radio show in 1991 and his latest TV series is currently running on BBC1 so so so so much more than this 2 series, you have a lot to enjoy, it's quite the rabbit hole!

Mark Jones

I'm glad you guys are loving Alan P. Stephen, u get it.

Dave (bmofano)

It’s the karaoke that gets me every time 😂🎤

Emma Edwards

Wasn't going to comment on your outro comment relating to 'Jill' but I get your point Stevie. But in British shows they don't cast all female roles as 10/10. You have to keep in mind levels of attractiveness 'Alan's' character is likely to pull. (Not objectifying women in anyway) 👍

So guys, what do you think of the pedestrianisation of Norwich city centre? Personally I'm dead against it. People forget that traders need access to Dixooooooons!

Jay

Not with Alan boys 👌😂

Adam G

Not gushy enough Stevie 😂

Adam G

Let battle commence 😂

James Ellison

Please, please, please can you pause a bit quicker going forward? 2 seconds is too long!

Daz Parker

Yes, this series is pretty much jumping into Partridge mid career. It would be fun to see some reactions to Day to Day and Knowing Me Knowing You, before they move on to some of the later stuff.

Jay

The smirk is part of her character, and it’s not accidental Definitely check out the outtakes when you’ve finished the series though!

Kieran B

I can’t wait for more of these. 😂 You’re gonna continue to love them!

Ryan

In off the red!

Adam G

Aha!

There is so much more Alan Partridge out there. You're in for a treat. Knowing Me, Knowing You, The Day Today, This Time, Scissored Isle, Welcome To The Places Of My Life, and a brilliant new series called 'How Are You? It's Alan (Partridge)'. Edited as I missed some stuff: Forgot to mention Mid Morning Matters which is some of his best work, in my opinion. There's also a movie, Alpha Papa, and several really funny books ('I, Partridge', 'Nomad', and 'Big Beacon'.). The Trip is also really worth a watch. It's not Alan Partridge but it is Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon playing exaggerated versions of themselves.
