Much Dynamic! (New feature Reactive Armies)

Hey everyone!

Wanted to give you one last update on what I've been working on this last week before I head off for a little break for a month.

I got sick of seeing red units and blue units sit idly by and not engaging each other unless specifically ordered by a player, so I've built a new feature titled 'Reactive Armies' !

Basically what this code does is will give orders to groups of armoured units and infantry to intercept opposing forces if they are within range. This will also work if a player orders a group to an area, and if that group is in range of enemy forces, both groups will move to engage each other. These ground forces will also move to engage enemy helicopters if they are in range as well, which should lead to some interesting scenarios.

Have a look at the attached video to get an idea of what the feature does and how it orders some units to move whilst not giving orders to others. The only unit I've given waypoints to is the helicopter so that it follows a path and gets the RedFor units moving to engage it as it circles.

This is version 1 of Reactive Armies however I intend to build it out more and add in more logic to the orders being given in future (like not sending a guy with an AK-47 to engage a Abrams) but I'm happy with how it's running now so deployed the code on the Burning Skies servers.

Also on a side note I've updated the Automated Air Traffic Controller (AATC) feature to handle airbases with multiple runways correctly and designate the active runway as R (see below image for example on Sinai). What this means is if a airbase has multiple runways, you'll be able to land on runway 25Right (R) and take off from the opposite end from the runway which 07Right (R).

Lastly thanks for all the support and I hope to catch up with you when I'm back.

Thanks,
Chazz

Yes, if the runway isn't alternating the direction you're landing on, which we are. We'll have planes landing from opposite directions and not having head on collisions as they both will be landing to their right. So using the above picture they'll use 25R for one aircraft, and 07R for the other.

Hey Chazz. Wouldn't that be take off from 25L?
