The Decline of the United States
Added 2025-07-26 05:58:51 +0000 UTC[Early Access]
Hello Patrons,
We didn't end up getting a chance to put out last week's early video but we've got another early one for you today. This video takes a look at the decline, or perceived decline, of the United States.
We've been going through a few different countries: New Zealand, the UK, now we've reached America, let us know if there are any other countries you'd like us to take a look at.
Between these explainer videos, the touring, and Jordan's new Epstein interest we're still getting around to doing the exclusive Patreon video and filming the poll winner. We'll be on those soon but enjoy another early video in the meantime!

Hit us with the bird bath. Delving more into the irrationalities of US foreign policy in Ukraine and the Middle East would be hugely valuable. Hedges, Mearsheimer, bloody Tucker Carlson of all people, and others like Jeffrey Sachs all have well educated/experienced, eminently sensible takes on this. But it's a message that a lot of people I know, and I imagine a lot of your audience aren't quite ready for because it requires some deprogramming to reach. It's a fucking weird time to see nominally anti-imperialist friends become NATO shills. You've got a good platform and style to unpack all of that in a way that people might accept.

2025-08-08 04:38:33 +0000 UTCHorrible take on Ukraine. The west needs to support Ukraine to discourage wars of aggression, even from allies like Isreal who should also be sanctioned for their actions. If you let Russia gobble up Ukraine, you haven't saved resources to focus on China, you've emboldened an enemy and created a larger crisis; war between nuclear powers NATO and Russia. That's not even considering the moral question of helping a less powerful nation resist an aggressive neighbour. Or the geopolitical question of keeping Western institutions such as the IMF, WTO and UN in charge of the world order. Or the soft power given up by abandoning an ally. Or the economic question of selling arms and building military capably. Or the information sharing Ukraine, as the now world leader in drone warfare, can provide. Just a horribly thought out and poorly researched video. Stick to deep dive politics or pure cultural commentary. If you're going to stray into geopolitical analysis you need to stop pulling shit out of your ass and put the work in.

2025-07-28 11:48:11 +0000 UTCWhat's with the anti-Ukraine comments? Whilst I agree that China is a larger threat, the idea that America should just abandon Ukraine to let Russia rampage is ludicrous

2025-07-27 03:13:25 +0000 UTCGreat vid Jordies & crew! Hopefully if we get a next instalment you can hopefully advise Americans on how to navigate these troubling times for them and how to maximise their success. Seems like it’s all doom and gloom and no end to it all

2025-07-26 23:37:09 +0000 UTCWell done this one. It’s interesting to see how the once great nation has become so divided and so pitied by the rest of the world. I have many American friends and it’s sad to see them trapped in such a flawed system that is beyond their ability to change. The 80s was the turning point for their decline due to the lack of strong leadership and the rise of oligarchs during the Reagan era. Sadly,”the U.S. coughs and the rest of the world gets the cold”.

2025-07-26 23:21:21 +0000 UTCAs a dumb American, you're not wrong... but not 100% either. I live in Idaho, which is the redheaded step-child of the hippy PNW and rural Midwest. A study just came out last month stating the minimum yearly income to "live comfortably" as a single person in ID - meaning the ability to pay your bills, save for retirement, take a vacation, own a house and a car, and to be able to weather one major emergency - is $96,000 a year. The average income is $36,000. Something like 18% of Americans in total can live "comfortably" in ID... I cant! We are certainly an empire in decline, and while I believe "the bones" of our government - the ideas and basic structures, including the electoral college - are still valuable and useful, the corruption and cronyism that has settled in with life-long politicians and the public-private marry-go-round between government agencies and major corporate boardrooms has eaten away at those ideals that built it. American Individualism has been replaced by blind tribalism in the media and amongst the youth so no matter the topic, its "us v them" and the "them" is always some vile, ignotant, subhuman generalizing buzzword so that "we" dont have to listen to anything they say. Compromise and cohesion between differing individuals has been replaced by tribal warfare and propaganda.... Bit if a rant there, sorry. Some of us have been in our "Men Amongst the Ruins" phase for a while!

2025-07-26 08:08:50 +0000 UTCGreat video. Realism is what’s needed now. Looking to people like Mearsheimer is wise in these times. Realists refer to Liberalism as impractical idealism, and you only have to compare America’s decline to the Marxist-Nationalist China’s rise to see the truth in that.
