Australia VS Corporate Tax Cheats

[Early Access]

Hello Patrons,

We're still trying to come up with a better name for this one, let us know in the comments what you think here. This video is another look at Labor's fight against multination tax evasion. It's one of their biggest and best fights but it barely gets talked about in the media.

We've filmed a video on the winner of last week's Patreon poll, coverage on the political donations reform. It's being edited right now so expect it to be the next early patreon video or sooner.

Thank you all for your continued support,
The FJ Crew

Australia VS Corporate Tax Cheats

As someone who works for the aviation regulator… always glad to see people ripping on the quantas/virgin monopolies.

"Exposing the corporate leaners" or "Keeping the (corporate) bastads honest"

Probably all of the above. But my husband and I have just paid $200,000 in nsw land tax for past 4 years. It’s an amount we can’t afford.

Amanda

As much as it would be great to abandon these subsidies, and no doubt most just inflate the corporate profits, actually cutting these subsidies will likely do little but poke the bear, with the fossil fuel companies passing on costs to the average driver as opposed to cutting down on their own profit margins... ...and knowing the average Australian isn't an avid public transit enjoyer (taking to the air of convenience sold to them in the form of mass usage of combustion engine cars), the public would easily pin the blame on the government that they think passed increased fuel prices to.

“Are Corporates doing more than just rimming tax loopholes?”

Jules

I could put a spanner in your argument about how the mums and dads are now paying gross amounts of tax not because of Corporate tax evasion BUT as the Australian Institute points out “the subsidies being paid to fossil fuel companies” are in the billions. Of course the Labour govt. didn’t bring these cruel penalising taxes in but they are not repealing them either. They are saying they have to grasp back for the Covid payments. Also QANTAS are passing on the outrageous costs to their customers.

Amanda

The point about the ATO now receiving the proper funding and support, reminds me of another issue, s I know someone, who works for the Australian Border Force, formally the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service and they say that due to the amalgamation under the Liberals, the agency has become too overbearingly focused on immigration enforcement as well as being a law enforcement agency, and the real duties of customs such as collecting taxes on goods etc. is not being prioritized and we are losing revenue from taxes and duties/excise. Customs and Border Protection should be Separate From Immigration Enforcement, so that the different priorities can be addressed. Also what is it with the Liberal Party coming up with stupid names for government agencies? For one why call it a "force", a force implies that it is involved in missions temporarily, like an air force and secondly Australia doesn't even have any borders.
