oh boy, a dirty alley filled with trash... now we're talking babey!!! that's hot!!!!
okay, first off: WOLFBOY IS BACK BABY!!! and he'll be back even MORE alongside his fiery haired pal in next weeks updates!!! those two are still the major antagonists of this arc of the story (alongside an un-introduced third character... >;3c) so we'll be seeing a whole lot of them!! shits just about to get really fun plot-wise.... i can't wait for what's coming tbh, when i think about the rest of the plot i genuinely get so bubbly and excited cause it love it so much LMAO
so, this chapter!! would you believe i managed to get all this done in a single day?? all the way from the outlines to the final product... it was a lotta work, but defo worth it i think B)!! i literally worked for like 13 straight hours from morning till night to get it done... honestly, i wish i had the energy to do this length for every update, but hey, sprinkling them in once in a while doesnt hurt!! >:3cc

since i did the sketches just yesterday, i think this is the perfect time to talk about that part of the process!! weirdly enough, i think out of all the things i have to do to make an update, the sketches are usually the most harrowing step... for some reason, i have a really hard time getting them to a point where im happy with them, so it always takes me way longer than any other thing. but on the bright side, since its the second thing i do, its pretty much all uphill from there!!
generally, what i do is come up with the basic outline of a chapter in text, then draw extremely basic layouts to match it--then after that, i'll start the sketches!! to be honest, i didn't use to do outlines, but i think it's a good step to have since it helps me remember what i'm actually supposed to be drawing while i listen to other things in the background... usually, i'll listen to music, or stories from those reddit storytime youtube channels (it keeps my attention dont judge me LMAO) while i draw, cause it helps me work for longer without getting distracted!! otherwise i get kinda spaced out and bored after a while, woops... thanks brain!! ya bitch!!!
to end this one off, here's the full process of doing a panel!!! theres a lot of steps...... o_o''
-----

[the outline!! very basic, just to get a simple idea of what i should put in each part--i also generally write out first pass dialogue alongside the pictures in this step, but in this case i already had it written out in my Secret Personal Discord server that i use as storage, so i just... wrote 'discord dialogue' LMFAO. also, about my handwriting.... i dont have an excuse i just fucking suck NJDFGNJH]

[da sketches!!! my process with these is always just to have a clean enough idea of how to line it that i can do it without many changes--but now that i'm drawing everything smaller, it doesnt really matter as much B) idk why its so much easier but im not complaining tbh!!
another thing of note here is the little notes on various parts of the sketch--thats for lining, cause i often re-use previous sketches/lines and just edit them a little to show subtle emotions changing on characters faces! sometimes they need extra little changes to look right between different expressions tho, so i always write down what i did to the sketch so i can do it to the lines too when i get there!! B)
also you may notice the panel got flipped... this happens a lot when i draw NDFGJNH, i just like.. .Forget the canvas is flipped and write shit backwards--but since i want u to be able to read it i flipped it back here!!]

[the lines!! not much to say here, but there they are!!]

[base colors... this is also the step where i add the thicker outline to the edges!! i think it makes them look kinda like stickers, which is a look i rly like!! >:3c]

[and shading!! i actually used to do a lot more shading, but honestly, it wasn't worth the time it took -- now i just do v simple shading in some specific parts of the body, like where different parts overlap, or under sleeve cuffs--and then the face/hair, cause thats the part that people look at the most!!]

[aaaand the final touches!! adding a background, cleanup around the edges, etc etc B) and thats one panel done!! i generally do all these steps in batches for every panel at once though cause its much easier lol--pretty sure every comic artist does that tho....]

ah shit i just realised these are all differently sized... ah well, what can ya do (i could rescale them, actually, but im lazy NJNDJFGHJN)
love u guys!! see you this weekend for the omake!! B)
