re: fucked up 70s country i was driving to colorado and heard a song that i’d describe as honky tonk gothic. i keep googling it and asking if anyone if anyone has heard it but i can’t find leads. it goes something like “Louella(?), I know that’s not your name, but underneath that crimson light, I know she lives again.” just this 4 drinks in song about a guy who insists on calling sex workers by his dead lover’s name. if that rings a bell let me know because that’s been a five year mystery to me.
