Why is PPP important as opposed to GDP? It measures the overal purchasing power of the people in that economy. GDP being bigger only benefits those at the top, at least under capitalism. But PPP is a way to measure whether an economy is healthy through and through--it takes into account the income levels of the actual people as well as the cost of goods. Cost of goods is much lower in PRC than the united states. Goods being more costly can inflate GDP numbers, but will lower PPP numbers.

We have to consider the PRC's ability to make big public investments, in infrastructure, high speed rail, solar panels, electric vehicles, healthcare tech, poverty alleviation, public transit, and so on. Plus the fact that they have achieved an escape velocity to where the US really cannot bully them around in 2024. The future is in China and the United States will be less and less dominant even in the coming years.

It causes a lot of uneccessary confusion among joe voter, on top of being kinda childish). If it was 60-40 for Trump before (or more, let's be honest), it's probably a 55/50-50 Kamala. I think the most convincing argument is the palpable tiredness of people in general (not just terminally online people) of seeing and hearing Biden and Trump. Biden because of obvious reasons, but Trump is like his own tribute band, going from gig to gig doing "hey, remember this? Remember this?". I don't get the sense that people who are in the tank for him are genuinely enthusiastic about it. It just feels very tired. They're absolutely going to vote for him, but it's not this live-wire of pulsating energy anymore. I can see a case for the cursed (and consistently baffling) "undecided"/swing-voters to go "oh, well at least this is a new thing. It's a break from this feeling that everything is pre-determined, the same way it felt pre-determined that Hillary has to take over after Obama, because reasons." So, I guess really, really, really slim victory for Kamala, which then goes through the democratic coms-machine as a sure-fire sign that America - once again - became the better angels of their nature and rose to the occasion, like we have always done, because we were always great and we just forgot about it and other such horseshit. Meanwhile, things progress pretty much as they always would have. //Most cursed outcome? Trump wins, then a black republican lady runs, and wins, they get the thing democrats have been gross gloating about as an inevitability, and Kamala - without the +10 Aura of Presidential Office Aadjacency - consistently runs and loses for the rest of her life (her online fans non-stop posting photoshops of Kamala as Rhaenys Targaryen, the Queen that Never Was, because everyone is baby).
