@Aaron, RE: the Akai Gurley murder in the NYC projects stairwell, you’re right about the Asian cop being the NYPD’s sacrifice in order to essentially ameliorate their PR machine against growing public backlash regarding police brutality and killings. I thought of that case after the Tyre Nichols murder. The muted police union response to those Memphis cops was very telling; it may be part of a broader historical trend of minority cops being police departments’ shock absorbers whenever there is their moral outrage against the violence they inflict on communities.

Tom jumps in to arbitrate the fight; “turn your ire on me” he says. In the style of Airplane! a camera slowly pans to reveal a line of people out the door…

True, but fuck losing- ima get this morale ship turned around pronto

Tom, I heard you almost pivot into a Sunday Service episode. Don't threaten me with a good time.

Cop brain is very funny and terrifying. I live in a rural area where a crime happens maybe once a week, but the town still put up a billboard with the mayor and a line of cops crossing their arms saying "THIS TOWN SUPPORTS COPS." The cops don't do shit, but my god do they demand to be fetishized and valorized.

Morale is officially down.

omfg the davos brainrrader thing for "oh but we can make everyone happy and eliminate crime by piping signals into peoples' brains" is LITERALLY a "here let me demonstrate how evil we are real quick" idea mentioned by an Umbrella scientist in Netflix's Resident Evil reboot. almost word-for-word. they're fucking with us.

Every time i hear tom pull a a metaphysical adage out of his sleeve like it's no big deal it makes me want to live in a world where him and christman do a sideshow on the left's relationship with divinity

Really funny how there is no cost, potential or otherwise, that isn't too great for someone else to pay for these rich lib fucks to have the world exactly how they want it. Like, they're pedantically obsessed over every cent spent in social spending (which ironically perpetuates their existence) unless it's for some rule of law bullshit. Like how much public danger occurred just so this asshole cop could apprehend 1 guy
