RE: critiques of power (58:00). This is where anarchist/libertarian socialist analysis can be useful

Normcore and the nostalgia of functionality the kids are casting back to when you could actually subvert something functional...now subversion is redundant

Others are saying it surely but TrueAnon, subliminal jihad, and (kinda) Blowback hit the Marxist parapolitical sweet spot

Thanks for the respectful reply and appreciate the perspective!

My sweet, sweet commenter. There's no "game" here at all. Dems didn't set this up. This was a--ahem--private matter gone wrong. However, Dems did step in to shape the narrative around this and use it for political purposes (and because the truth is embarrassing for a powerful leader). Just because people on the right make a claim, doesn't mean it's wrong. Let us remember that they were correct in calling out Russiagate for the the BS that it was, when Dems *had to* convince everyone of this outlandish conspiracy to explain away the obvious: Hillary was an awful candidate who ran a dogshit campaign. And do remember that the official line about Epstein - STILL - is that he killed himself, when we all know that's untrue. FWIW, I think it is entirely probable that this was a sex thing gone wrong. The breathless coverage of this largely hinged on the presence of zip ties (no video footage or security camera stills of the assailant when he was on BILLIONAIRE'S ROW on the way to the residence, not the actual 911 call, etc.). And those, OF COURSE, could ONLY mean one thing! It just so happens that that one thing also neatly evokes the Jan 6 riot which libs are continually trying to juice for political gain. Just so you know, zip ties are also used by gay hustlers as improvised c0ck r*ngs for some of their (older) johns. And what is alleged to have been in his backpack - rope, rubber gloves - is also common fare at kinky sex parties out here. Now if I'm wrong and they release concrete evidence, not inference, and this story doesn't go away after the midterm shellacking I will eagerly eat humble pie on this one. But I'll bet you all of the ice cream in Pelosi's freezer that I won't have to.

So what is the game then? If the Dems set this up to somehow convince the electorate that political violence from the right is real and palpable, why Pelosi? She's the most loathed liberal in the land and her husband's "attack" has been met with laughter from nearly everyone on the right and at least half of people on the left think it's some op.

Since it was San Francisco and all the crazy mkultra stuff there, I did some research on the guy who attacked pelosi's lover. Learned he had a family. I got sidetracked with his baby mammas drama https://www.berkeleyside.org/2019/12/20/public-nudity-activist-from-berkeley-charged-with-attempted-abduction-stalking-of-teenage-boy And her son definitely, totally, πŸ’― wrote this on her nudism page where she asks for lawyer money and promotes her porn site https://web.archive.org/web/20200206194651/www.mynakedtruth.tv/2019/12/love-story-daniels-testimony-about-his-mother-gypsy-taub/ The porn site is bonkers moving from "true hipster amateur porn" to musing about "old pussy" to talking about hairy pussies being StarCraft porn. Quality stream of consciousness brain slop https://web.archive.org/web/20200128220032/http://www.lustfulgoddess.com/ She also ran a clinic in Mexico microdosing with street kids to cure them from their addiction. She bribed them there with gifts and money. http://jerrygarciafamilyclinic.org/street.html Plus it's totally normal to film young boys you're microdosing dosing with https://m.youtube.com/watch?t=90&v=Fg1ud1u0Ido&feature=youtu.be

It's the new two scoops!

Personally, I think the ProPublica piece is the psyop. The US government keeps trying to find ways to make China look scary to Americans. The media description of the CPC's party meeting was so hysterical in fearmongering. They literally commented on the fact that Xi had two cups in front of him, instead of one.

y’all should talk abt althusser’s concept of overdetermination and his while β€œin the last instance” thing

SF resident here. I, too, am a Pelosi truther. Nothing about this fucking story makes a damn bit of sense. You could hear a mouse pissing on cotton in that particular neighborhood after dark, and everyone's house is wired to the gills. And there's been *no* security camera footage of him leaked to the press walking to the house on the way to break in? Nah, son.

Loved the Halloween special! Thanks

Greg

Thanks for saying it

Hearing about the nudist activist from San Francisco is the first real temptation I've had to check in on Twitter since signing off Thursday. That sounds like post MKULTRA project. San Francisco was one big laboratory. I need my usual accounts to make more connections. The libs in Congress probably do take January 6th seriously, but don't want ro wind up like Leo Ryan or Hale Boggs

Y’all’s riff on Cobrasnake took me straight back to the mid aughts. This article is from 2007 and talks about him in β€˜05, when he would have been 20: β€œIn the summer of 2005, when she was 15 but not yet famous, Cory Kennedy went to a Blood Brothers concert at the El Rey Theatre. She remembers what she was wearing--black leg warmers, beat-up black Converse sneakers and a canary-yellow Lacoste mini-dress that she’d had to beg her mother to buy her. It was β€œback in the day,” at the end of ninth grade, when she was still going by her full name, Cory Kennedy-Levin. She was going to a lot of concerts then, and at this one, a guy named the Cobra Snake saw her and took her picture for his hipster-party photo website. In the non-Internet world, the guy’s real name is Mark Hunter, and the scary nickname was mostly wishful thinking. Bright, friendly and energetic, Hunter was also young. A year or two’s difference, and Cory might have recognized him as the 2003 Associated Student Body vice president at Santa Monica High School. After graduation, he had discovered a knack for taking pictures of L.A. nightlife, and he had been posting them for free on thecobrasnake.com, which was becoming a fairly popular website. Hunter, then 20, especially liked the El Rey because all sorts of interesting people went there, from movie stars to posses of L.A. teenagers like the pretty girl in yellow he saw that night out on the town.”

I’d love to hear y’all’s take on Southland Tales
