Whether that's finding a bookie, traveling to a legal betting site, or knowing in the back of your mind someone might show up to break your thumbs. It keeps away all but the most committed. The other problem with the ubiquity of sports gambling is the people in charge using all the tricks social media developers used to gamify it and make it as addictive as possible. I know for most it's harmless fun, but there are probably now thousands of people who are addicted to gambling who otherwise wouldn't. Okay, I'll get off my soapbox now.
