Here's another thing. I know those dudes with the subliminal jihad podcast like to think they know shit about the occult. A lot of people *outside of the occult* like to think they know shit about the occult. This is like trusting the early Catholic Church fathers to tell you something straight up about the gnostics. Almost everyone who does not practice the occult has a negative view of it. Why? Probably because we're all steeped in historical-literal interpretations of Christianity from the time we're born here in the West. It's hard to give a thing a fair shake when you've been loaded from birth to be suspicious of it. If you wanna keep going down the parapolitics road, PLEASE consider having some people on with first-hand experience of the occult to comment on their own worldview and the meaning of their practices instead of having people on who are already biased against that worldview and associated practices. "The Occult" is not a monolith. There is a great diversity of ideas and views that fall under that umbrella term. Aside from rebellious teens, the people who seek to develop themselves spiritually within an occult stream are generally not malevolently motivated or shallow poseurs. Everytime occult stuff comes up here and elsewhere lately I cringe, waiting to hear some shit that slanders what otherwise is generally a lofty and wholly laudable pursuit. PLEASE look for some folks in the occult to have on and comment on their lifestyle in their own words.

Re: The Travis Scott Thursday Episode: I appreciate the guests resisting the temptation to get on the "There's a Satanic cabal out there that's trying to control all of our lives!" roll. I don't recall which guest said it, but I've noticed the growing coalition between the Christian Right and the New Age Crystal Gazers, too, and there's some weird rebranding of the concept of Evil® that the two groups are participating in together. At this point, basically anything "collectivist" is Evil® and anything that assists and supports Personal Sovereignty™ is Good®. Which is weird, because, unless I'm completely spiritual endarkened, by my lights, it's generally the individualist impulse that's overdeveloped and causes what might be considered evil effects. At least here in the West. I think we could go a good deal further in developing a collectivist-oriented approach to social and political action without it being overdeveloped and liberty-destroying. My read is that the political right wants to keep all their power and money and is whipping up a frenzied fear-monger campaign to get the amygdala of their base pumping out those paranoia-producing stress hormones. TLDR; Who is more like Anton LaVey (or for that matter, the current zeitgeist’s bogeyman, Crowley, with his misunderstood “Do what thou wilt”): Mitch McConnell or Bernie Sanders?

On the Streisand effect: that statue is still gone and so are a bunch of other statues. So chud using duckduckgo to find out who Lord Diddleberry was doesn't matter much when we all forget his name by the end of the week. The thing that doesn't change is that the statue stays gone. I think Apple Music was behind the livestream. Their’s and Livenation’s presence at this event is what creeps me out most.
