MH370 Special Episode

Hi guys, in a few months I'll be releasing a special episode on the disappearance of MH370 in March 2014. I am in the planning stages of that episode now, and I got thinking - I want to make this episode really special. I want to make an episode of a type and quality that has not been done by any aviation incident channels on YouTube to date.

So, I'd love to get your opinion as Patrons of this channel. Would you like me to do the MH370 episode in my usual format, just a bit longer (say, 60 mins), or would you be interested in seeing a new type of video from me?

That video would be a blend of my usual flight simulator recreation, but with a vlog-style component added in, consisting of some, or all of these things:

- Me travelling to Kuala Lumpur, checking out some important sites there relevant to MH370, asking locals their opinion on the incident.

- Interviewing experts on the incident

- Recreating parts of the flight in a real-life B777 simulator

Let me know in the comments below which type of video you'd prefer to see, and tell me your own suggestions!

It'll turn out an uber-must-watch I'm sure, just like everything else, but certainly tricky to do right IMO. But given channel output so far, production is in safe hands is my thinking. But couple of thoughts do spring to mind: Firstly, straightaway the 'MH370 story' seems to have been done-to-death by documentary makers each serving up some revelation or the obligatory ‘compelling new evidence’. Which brings me onto the second thought: little in the way of real evidence to go on – no black box, only rudimentary satellite data etc etc. But anyway, putting aside mental knee-jerks, this is what could make it such a great project for this channel! – from an aviation enthusiast point of view (thrill seeker second 😊), it really has ground breaking potential (well, for me it does). If it’s put together in typical Greendot style i.e. considered, technical, big dollop of ‘human-factors’, intelligent and highly entertaining then…Especially if you intend to go native and really start digging, then, wow! Best of luck.

Thanks Anthony, that’s great to hear! I’m looking into this at the moment and it’s quite possible that I’ll get a go in a 777 sim to try this out. Have also spoken to an investigator who has written a book on the incident and he’s up for an interview, so that should definitely be in the video!

I came to the poll intending to vote that the usual style is great (which it is!) but I can't pass up the chance to see the recreation in a simulator! The interviews with experts sound great too!
