Days later, the wreckage was discovered miles from anywhere the plane should have been flying. How had the crew of this flight ended up so far off course? When investigators analysed the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder, they were baffled.
For years, flight 311 would serve as a case study for airline pilots worldwide, and as a cautionary tale for anyone flying into mountainous areas. This is the story of Thai Airways flight 311.
