Heyyy everybody, thanks for being part of the Patreon program. I am recovering from a foot injury and spending some time rehabilitating is just what I need. I hope this post is insightful and translates into something that helps you too.
In this video, I use my favorite self massage tool, the massage ball to target my foot and hip connection.
Initially, the ball feels great rolling along the arches of the foot sole.
Unexpectedly, the ball finds a place beneath the heel. It reminds me of a technique I performed in all of my massage sessions, in which the practitioner scoops the client's heels in a method that creates a depth of traction. With the ball under the heel, the pelvis has an opportunity to balance and rest.
Next, I flip over and use the double roller to target the psoas major muscle. A few techniques with the feet direct the double roller more deeply into the fascia.
After the roller, I sit on my heels in vajrasana, for a therapeutic position for the feet and a grounding balance in the pelvis and lower back. This provides the foundation for side to side neck stretches.
Finally, I move to cross legs and find a minute of blissful meditation.
More videos on the way.
Namaste.
