Rating - 9/10 - Great first ep into the season. Sam is struggling with the memories of hell, & Death has rejected another wall so i'm not too sure how this will go. Also I gotta say, Misha playing bad is now my new favourite thing! It's like I shouldn't like it but I doooooo. I've given this ep a high rating because I freakin' loved Death's scene in this ep & I also loved the last scene where Cas switched from Cas to Beast in 0.05 seconds! So good. A few parts of this ep felt a little slow/samey but I don't think that took away from the episode premiere. I hope this season has a good arc, i'm in need of being surprised & enticed. Bring on the rest of this season!

I remember the Leviathans being weak to soap or something stupid and the big bad was just eh, but if they focused on Lucifer taunting Sam from within his mind and make it a more psychological story would have been better imo

Still a bit iffy on that. lol This is a pretty good episode. It's always felt more like a season finale to me though - well, the part up to where the Leviathans take over Cas. Then cut and wait several months to find out what happens. It's always so striking when a character suddenly changes like Cas did. And Misha did do a good job. Dean may have been really upset with Cas, but it looks like he still cares. Well, maybe Dean can forgive, but I'll have a hard time with it. I got pretty upset with Cas over everything he did. And how it affected Sam, Dean and Bobby. And others. Everything that happened this past year was because of him. He meant well, but at some point he moved into another territory. sigh I'm just not as forgiving as Sam and Dean. I'm still pissed with him over letting sam out of the panic room back in season 4, when he was detoxing. You're halfway through the series! Well, you will be when you're done with this season. But still. It's been a long road to this point. A lot has happened. When I think back on the first season, I'm always amazed at everything and the journey I've been following. I noticed the title thingy, so I looked it up. Orange. So then I wondered if you were just messing with us and it was some kind of puzzle thing - but I couldn't think of what Orange would be referring to with this episode. Had me stumped. Now I see it was just a flub. Oh well. Had my brain cells buzzing for a few minutes at least. I've noticed a few Reactors have started using official looking CW episode footage, and it had me wondering why people are using it now. Brain cells are buzzing again. LOL

Personally, I don't like what they do with the "big bad" after this though :/ that is where most of the complaints about this season stem from. The Leviathans. But it isn't a terrible season despite that. So I think you will enjoy it overall!

I cannot wait to see what comes up for you watching this. Season 7 has its strong points, and from season 8 onwards it becomes a lot better. That is until the point where the producers and writers basically run out of ideas and draw the final line with the upcoming 15th season. Until the next one.

Sam’s flashes look awful, skin on hooks and burning flames of hell not to mention Lucifer, yikes. I know right! Come on Cas. Yup let’s pretend that didn’t happen haha and slide past the title. Nothing worse than being sick at work never mind when it’s a job in front of millions 🙈 poor bloke Oh my god you’re so right. I missed that on first watch. Makes that moment a lot more substantial now. They really are pretty! Ignore the title I shall change for YT version (if I remember lol) I’ve had to download the season to add the picture in picture and that’s what was on there. Fluff up on my part for not checking.

My favorite moments of this episode are Death and then all the parts were Sam's wall is cracking. My heart breaks for him over and over. First in little flashes 🔥and then a full blown Satan conversation. 🥺👿 Why couldn't Cas just fix him first before putting all the souls back. 😭 And same as Toasted Toad said: what's with the title? Orenji? In this episode we "meet the new boss". 😝 Thanks for another SPN Monday! 😏👍 A favorite episode of mine is next.

I loved him and Cas together as much as when he spars with Dean. Let's not forget the endless supply of nicknames for Sam. I'm excited to follow along with this season

You've been watching week to week so you must have a much better internal picture of how the guys look compared to the previous episode. I tend to notice the Sam hair look for the season. Dean's styles are more subtle. Cas I tend to go by how much bed head he has at any given time. And yes, Misha was incredibly sick. All the shots you see from the back are his double. Shows his professionalism in actually being able to get through this at all and turn in a great performance (until they called time on it and sent him to bed!). I think my favourite line from the episode is when Dean says "Dammit. Cas, you child. Why didn't you listen to me?" He insists he doesn't care, that Cas is no longer his friend, that he won't forgive Cas. But when he thinks Cas is dead, he grieves. Agreed that Cas has beautiful eyes. Huge and so, so blue! And why is your episode title "Orenji"? Am I missing some kind of reference? The episode is "Meet the New Boss".

2019-06-24 14:36:28 +0000 UTCAh yes, the premiere of Season 7. This season is widely considered the worst of the show, but I think it's still good, and definitely not without its high-points. This episode is one of those highs. We get the solution to the cliffhanger from the previous finale, which is great. We see Crowley trying (and failing) to hide from Cas and then being coerced into working for him. Of course more Bobby is always more better, and he's a big part of this episode. The Leviathans are introduced and have taken over Cas, which is probably gonna be, you know, bad. It's always good seeing Death, however ironic that may seem, and the confrontation between Death and God-Cas is one of my favorite scenes of the season. The tension is palpable, and they both get some great lines. Yep, lots of good stuff to unpack in this one. Anyhoo, great episode and great video as always. Looking forward to the next one.

2019-06-24 13:07:47 +0000 UTCI probably said it before, but it's worth repeating. Give season 7 a fair chance. It still has everything you've loved about the show up to this point. There is action, emotion, comedy, fear. The Leviathans are actually a really entertaining enemy. But the best thing is seeing the writers continue to take chances with the characters. You'll meet new friends and see old ones take on new journeys. Just like the last three or so seasons everything really picks up in the last third of the season. The single best episode of the season is 7x17, but my personal favorite is 7x20. I hope you enjoy the ride. PS: What is 'Orenji'?

2019-06-24 11:23:48 +0000 UTCWow, I am early in to comment this time! On that note, so sorry I haven’t been able to comment much lately. Work and life have been piling up on me lately and though I have made sure to keep up and watch all your reactions I haven’t always had time or energy to comment or I have come in after you have already read and responded. This opening was pretty good for me, though this season is the hardest for me. Mostly as I don’t enjoy the big bad, Leviathans. Hat being said, there are still some amazing episodes this season and it is probably a more plot driven and thought out season than 6, though I prefer 6. They are he two weakest seasons though. After 7 it just goes on the up and up again. In my opinion at least. Misha did a great job in this episode, especially the switch of personality/character at the end. I can’t remember if it was this episode or the last episode of season 6 (though like 85% sure it was this one) that Misha was actually really sick filming this with a stomach bug and was throwing up between takes until Jensen finally called it and said they can’t let Misha film like this and sent everyone home. Someone else will be able to confirm if it was this episode like I think, but I love that Misha was still so strong acting even when not well. Anyway, will end it here but hope you and the little man are both doing well. I’ll try to be quicker to watch and comment this season as things seemed to have settled down for me a bit now.
