Asana Talk - Physical Tone + Muscular Action
Added 2021-12-20 00:31:00 +0000 UTCAnd here it is... the asana talk.
This one is about what's happening in the body with yoga.*
Are you familiar with what isometric action is?
Isometric action is when you actively tighten your muscles to form a stable and accentuated joint connection.
It happens a lot in yoga and even very strong muscles can experience fatigue early on. In other words, if a person has not attempted much isometric activity, then it might take a little practice before their body adapts.
So, maintaining one asana for 3-5 breaths will require a level of isometric sustenance.
And then there's "isotonic" action, which has two categories:
Isotonic resistance and concentration
