patreon

Status update.

Well, as expected, there is no answer or reply from Patreon regarding my enquiry. As such, I'm making some changes to how commissions work here.

Regarding this platform, there are people who only trust this site and are not willing to change. This is already reflected on the last poll I made on this subject, so it's not surprising. Another reason is that there are people who pledged for an entire year in advance. It would not be fair to leave those people out as well.  Patreon is also currently the only platform currently that has the early access system.

As a result, I will continue to post all content here. However, I will not be receiving model conversion commissions using Patreon's system. People interested in commissioning models can still do so though the DM, but please make payment via Paypal. All existing commissions will still be honored, don't worry. This change only applies to any new commissions.

I have already updated the tier descriptions to reflect this change, so please check that you are ok with your pledge. This is mostly directed at people who are at the Diamond tier and above, as the tiers below that are mostly untouched.

On another piece of good news, I will be reopening commissions soon, as I only have about 15 models left in the current list. Sorry for the wait, everyone.

If you have any questions regard these changes, or if anything is unclear, please let me know.

There's also MeradeDAZ and Alaaddin Havari, but you and CheckerToo are my favorites.

Oh yeah, I forgot about FoRender and Guhzcoituz. I guess what I meant was people who do conversions that have a subscription, as opposed to pay by the model. That conversion process sounds familiar to how I used to convert to G3F before I discovered XTransfer. It was a tutorial I found on DeviantArt, only it was only for the head/face, since that's the most defining characteristic of a model. I'll have to try this with the morph though, thanks.

There is also FoRender, and Guhzcoituz. These two can be considered as the pioneers, though they don't use wrap3. In fact, I don't think any of the 4 listed here use Wrap3. They all seems to be using Zbrush or similar to sculpt their stuff directly. Regarding morphs, there is another way you can do to get a certain morphs across generations. You pose the G3F to be similar to G8F, that is to say, arms 45 degrees and legs 8 degrees, than you dial in that morph you cannot live without. make sure that the subdivide is set to none, and export as obj. Load in G8F, and use your exported obj as a morph. That should transfer the morph over without the need for scripts to break it.

Out of the three, doesn't Shinteo have the most commissions done though? Some of them are already done by any of the other two as well. (The characters.) Albeit, with maybe slight differences. As far as quality though, I wouldn't know personally, all three artists make them look great IMO. I probably mess up the models to an extent anyway as I usually just convert them to G3F using XTransfer. (There is a certain morph that is only made for G3F that I can't live without, and using a morph conversion script messes it up.) The only thing that usually gets messed up is the eyes, but the iris correction morphs built into G3F usually fixes that. IMO there's actually too few artists who do this kind of thing. Shinteo, Dazwraps, and CheckterToo are the only ones that I know of.

JC

OK, and the process is: FIFO, we send you a Direct Message on Patreon, and a link to the model, and the cost is what...that we send via PayPal? (Sorry, I am not finding the formal process on the site here)

Matt Outlaw

Dazwraps and CheckerToo are two of them I know of...

It's on a first come first served basis, yes. Basically, I have a list, and will add to it as I get the commissions and remove the entry when they are done. I go down that list in order. The reason for the closing of commissions is because I did a stupid thing and allowed them to pile up, thus resulting in something like 120 commissions, that is what I was clearing this last 7 or so months.

Shinteo

Well, there is the payment issue that I mentioned the last update post, which is why I would rather use paypal directly, as that I can track easier. Also, who else is doing daz converts? I'll like to check them out.

Shinteo

lol.

Shinteo

Certainly. The paypal is actually in my profile page, but I'll make a link for it when they reopen.

Shinteo

:)

When commissions open, is it first-come-first-served, or is there a waiting list? I've asked a few times over the past year, but it's always been closed. Not sure how it works?

Matt Outlaw

using the instant payment thing for you patrons is the best. patreon is fine for comissions, but you just have to keep track on the instant payments, which is honestly an easy thing to manage. also, I hate to say this, but there are a few people doing daz/wrap3 conversions, and you are at the bottom tier at the moment,

Great incentive to subscribe to a fanbox. ^_^

DarkFaust

Please let us know the moment you open commissions back up again as well as the PayPal address to use.

MP1Forever

thanks for keeping us posted.
