What's to come

Hey everyone! I’ve realise I’ve been a little bit silent on here since posting the final Lativa vid and I feel you deserve an update. So here’s a breakdown of the projects I currently have in the works:

South Korea bikepacking

The main reason I was out in South Korea was because I was invited to film a family bicycle touring across the country with there kids (Ben and Amber - if you remember them from the first vid in the USA series). Whether or not the film I make for them will be shared publicly remains to be seen, but once it’s done I may share it here.

I spent 2 weeks with them following the established 4 rivers cycle path, then headed off alone on my own bikepacking trip away from the paths and into the mountains. I also found myself near the DMZ at one point which was fascinating. I haven’t really touched this footage yet, but it’s some fun stuff.

Source to Sea down the river Thames!

I seriously enjoyed the river parrett trip and have been contemplating doing another river ever since. The Thames to me seemed like the obvious choice as it’s over 4 times as long, and offers different challenges (namely other river traffic!) and I hope lots of opportunities to meet people en-route.  I’m planning to tackle this one slightly differently to the Parrett and as a result should be able to stick to the course of the river more faithfully. But that remains to be seen...

If you have any ideas of your own on how I should tackle this expedition please let me know. I suspect it will take me somewhere between 10-14 days. I’m going to attempt to be a little more active online while this trip is going on, so if any of you live on or near the thames it would be fun to meet you (or simply wave as I bob passed!). I also plan to post more BTS bits and bobs of this trip here on patreon as the trip unfolds.

For now, while the weather is good and the days are longer, my focus is to get out on the Thames and get this trip filmed. Once back I will get myself back into edit mode, so I suspect there won’t be full videos on here for a couple of months. My plan at the moment is to release the Thames series first THEN the Korea stuff. I totally understand if this short pause in vids prompts some of you to halt your support during this time, but please know that it’s during these times, while I’m working on a new advenutre, that your support helps them most.

Anyhoo, I hope this explains a little more of what’s to come from me. I’m really looking forward to sharing these new series with you all!

Thank you as always,

Ed

I am looking forward to the new vids and am certain they will be worth the wait.

Always love the videos outside of uk and Europe. But also cool to see you adventuring in the uk, with the geowizard type challenges. Can’t wait to watch you run into rouge shopping carts in the Thames. I’m doing another C2C through Yorkshire and Leeds soon, so that’s my adventure for now until I can get out further. Thanks for the update Ed, 👌🚴‍♂️

Granted, a tent is simpler and probably lighter and more reliable an idea.

I was watching this and wondered how that idea could be applied to a unicycle. The way he has it, anything on a unicycle would be way too vulnerable to the wind. But I got to thinking, what if it was made to fold up, sorta like a handheld fan, and could fit between the seat and the wheel like your uni-panniers do. Maybe come up with just a few simple design ideas to see if it has any merit over packing a tent before getting more elaborate with it.

I'm sure you are not short for ideas but I saw this video. Now let's see if Patreon allows for YouTube links in the comments section. https://youtu.be/hltuJPPiCA4?si=yncBl5XzXd9-bHPy

Dang it, I keep hitting the return button to start a new paragraph but Patreon doesn't work that way.

Hey Ed. NeaL here. In response to the continued monthly Patreon support, I was thinking of actually boosting that in a couple months. It won't be until after August though.
