My next expedition!

Hello everyone!

First off just let me say a massive welcome and thank you to everyone who's joined this little community over the last couple of weeks! I'm so happy the new series has resonated with so many! And while I'm aware a chunk of you will leave at the end of this month, I do hope some of you will stick around to support what I have coming up.

So, what's coming up!? While I'm hesitant to outline the specifics of my next expedition, because the exact plans could change, I do want to reveal that I'd be getting back on a unicycle! The rough plan is to riding for about a month, with the aim of crossing a country I've never been to before. I leave in just over 4 weeks and I'm still nowhere near prepared - but that's pretty usual for me.

Anyhoo I hope this gets you excited for future videos and please know that your monthly donations are a massive piece of the puzzle in allowing me to head out on these trips and produce these adventure series'.

And of course a huge thank you to all the OG supporters, without which the last years worth of videos probably wouldn't have been possible.

Cheers,
Ed :)

p.s I'm also thinking about producing a kit breakdown video for the river trip. Would this be something you'd be interested in?

Appreciate the response, thanks Ed!

Hey Ryan. Unfortunately not. It’s a combination of photoshop, apple motion, fcp and a handful of different plugins. Wish there was a simple option!

Ed Pratt

Hey Danny! Cheers for the support! Sounds exciting - where are you off to on your weekend trips?

Ed Pratt

Hi Ed, I've really loved the river series! A kit video would be really interesting, but I also had a video related question too. By the looks of it, you use Final Cut to edit your videos and I was wondering how you created your map animations? Is there a specific plug in you use? They look great. Thanks!

Ryan Hall

Hi Ed, I’m new here as of a few minutes ago! I’ve enjoyed your videos for about a year now. You and a few other YouTubers have become very inspiring to me, and I figured it was time to join the crowd here on Patreon! I really appreciate the effort you put in to sharing your expeditions with a whole bunch of strangers on the internet. You stick out to me as really positive and genuine, and you seem to be able to turn even a simple local trip into an exciting discovery. Plus, your video work is incredible! I’m currently working on my own kit for a small bike setup (for simple weekend trips and things). I hope to be out on my own trips very soon! Keep it up! And yes, a kit video would be excellent, if you’ve got the time. Thanks, Danny Burt

Daniel Burt

I was very impressed that you took the risk to start and land it from your boat in the middle of a very large river.

Andreas Kohler

It’s a DJI MINI 2. And for this trip I didn’t charge it, just attempted to be properly deliberate with when I pulled it out. It’s possible to charge off s power bank, but as I wanted to be self sufficient throughout, I saved the power I had for charging my phone and GoPro batteries

Ed Pratt

Wonder what kind of drone you have and how you charge it.

Andreas Kohler

Would love to see the kit breakdown, have seen a few creators' pack rafting videos and it would be nice to see what went into it.

Zach Jones

Hmm I wonder where you could be going. My guess is somewhere like India potentially?! Looking forward to the next video(s)

Matthew Walsh

exited to see your next adventure. I would definitely love a kit breakdown to see everything you had at the start and the reasons why you chose these specific things and not other similar objects.

Going to Orkney for a week, the bikes are coming too but I'll have so time to 'play' on the unicycle as well (I hope).

Andrew Duncan

Where are you going Andrew??

Ed Pratt

I'm pretty excited to hear you're getting back on the unicycle for another adventure! -- I've enjoyed your other content but I am really looking forward to this one. My 32"er is on top of the car just now waiting to go on a (more modest) adventure of its own in a couple of hours, you've given me some more motivation (again!).

Andrew Duncan

No doubt haha, every time I saw you put that thing on and take it off I felt it in my shoulders lol. Stoked to see what you do next man!

lukeisnice

Sweet! Yeah, feel I probably need to show actually why the pack was 27kg at the beginning haha

Ed Pratt

100% would watch a kit breakdown. Especially in your editing and narration style.

Ian Hulme

Would love to see a kit video! That pack you had was no joke!
