Master List Update: Jan 2024

Comments

There seems to be some duplication of W Y & Z from entry 237 onwards, unless I am missing a vital plot twist.

If I remember correctly, someone on Discord had suggested The Road of Babylon (out of The Roaring Silence) a long time ago, but the suggestion didn't get many votes and did not come through to the master list. I also considered suggesting anything by Manfred Mann. Maybe it's time to do that, because I'm really keen to hear Doug's thoughts on MM music (especially some MMEB).

I am quite new to the Patreon, but have at least for six months enjoyed your reviews and especially those of King Crimson, Genesis/Steve Hackett, Gentle Giant and Pink Floyd. In the lists and overviews, I have not yet found Manfred Man? Especially the Manfred Man Chapter Three albums (1969-71) which I think you will enjoy a lot (especially with some herbal assistance), and of course their legendary version of Bob Dylan’s “Father of Day and Father of Night” from “Solar Fire “of the Manfred Mans Earth Band. Are you familiar with Manfred Man and will you review some of these, in my mind, masterpieces?

Thanks Doug. A couple of suggestions: for Pink Floyd, why not listen to the two post-Waters records? You already analyzed On the Turning Away and seemed to really enjoy it. Both A Momentary Lapse of Reason and The Division Bell are worth a listen. On the David Gilmour front, I think that you'll enjoy his last two records much more than his first solo album. They are much more interesting musically. Suggest adding "On an Island" and "Rattle that Lock" to your list. Thank you, Sir!
