maybe im a bit late to the party but i finally finished the book and i just can’t comprehend how people can be so smart and start off with good intentions but end up so evil and greedy. the bit abt arthur sackler’s art collection so was so random to me but it was rlly interesting i was like wtf 😭😭 Ok he’s evil but he has taste… anyways … people will do anything to remain at the top and it’s so horrid that they kept blaming addiction on people who were “predetermined to have addictive personalities”

I had a friend with terminal cancer who knew he was addicted but didn't care--the opiods numbed the pain and he was dying anyway--but they took a toll on him. Looking forward to Shawn's reaction, which may help convince me to dive deep and read this one after all. Scared, though.
