Fast or Slow?

I think it's all in the context, I mean maybe you start with growth and then lead to a flashback or something. Your stories tend to be short so it's nice if we're introduced to the body early, but the concept of growth itself often has a narrative with a beginning a middle and an end, in 8 or 9 pages. That said you'd maybe be better off with a solid "growth" story just starting it all off at once? For longer series definitely it's worth it to get into the scene, the mood to give the growth that much more dynamism.
