Wrestling the Changes - Part 13

Hayden’s eyes blinked open as the overlapping cries of six very newborn voices pulled him from sleep. The chorus of infant wails felt impossibly loud and urgent, pulling his heart in six different directions. The ache spread throughout his entire body as if he had wrung it dry, twisted it, and then stretched it back into a human shape. Every breath made his ribs ache. Every shift made his hips scream. He groaned, barely able to stay awake after a long night of pushing.

Hayden’s hand instinctively went to his belly, which had gone down considerably but still protruded almost 30 inches in front of him. His middle was soft, heavy, and still round with life. The skin was tight in places and loose in others, making it feel off as he rubbed it. The soreness was unimaginable—his thighs trembled at the slightest motion, and his hips throbbed from the incredible task they’d performed. His arms, back, and even the tips of his fingers ached as though they had helped push out each of the six boys themselves.

His mind still felt fogged, straining under the reality of everything he had gone through and everything still to come. Still, with great effort, he tried to roll toward the nearest crib—each arranged carefully around his bed in a semicircle like a protective barricade. Each crib had a name written in a hand-painted font on the side: Matt, Sawyer, Cole, Hale, Kevin, and Peter, in the exact order they had come into the world.

His body screamed in protest as he tried to move. He gasped and fell back into the pillows, groaning as the soreness radiated from his core. But the bedroom door opened with a burst as Jake and Noah entered with smiles, still wearing their flannel pajamas.

“We got this,” Jake said excitedly, walking between the cribs with the confidence of a man who had done this before, even though he was as new at this as Hayden. “Good morning, sunshine. You look stunning today.”

“Morning, bro,” Noah added, brushing a hand through his sleep-mussed hair as he gently checked on the babies while their cries were already softening.

Hayden blinked in surprise. “Why are you two up?”

“To help. I’m a dad, so I’m on permanent guard now,” Jake said, stepping over to little Sawyer’s crib. “Do you still doubt I’ll fulfill all the fatherly responsibilities?”

Hayden’s chest tightened, touched by Jake’s love and willingness. But before he could say something, Noah lifted little Matt into his arms, wrapped him snugly in a sky-blue blanket, and brought him to Hayden.

“I think he’s hungry,” Noah whispered before gently settling Matt into Hayden’s arms.

Hayden smiled as his instincts kicked in. Despite the soreness, his arms cradled the baby securely. He shifted upright with a soft whimper of pain, adjusting so Matt could latch onto his chest. It felt as strange and soothing as the first time.

Jake approached with Sawyer in his arms, whose cries had softened to tiny hiccups. “Do you have room for one more?” he asked, placing the second baby in Hayden’s free arm.

Hayden smiled faintly. “I guess I do.”

With both babies nursing hungrily on his chest, Hayden let his head fall back against the pillows. He winced as their mouths tugged, triggering a deep ache in his milk-swollen tits, but it was an oddly satisfying sensation. Their tiny fingers curled over his warm skin, softly kneading as if to anchor themselves to him.

Jake sat beside him, careful not to move the mattress too much. “How do you feel today?” He said, kissing Hayden’s cheek.

Hayden looked over at him, smiling but sighing. “I’m exhausted. Everything hurts. And I’m still as big as a planet. I don’t know how I’ll go through four more labors.”

Jake only smiled and kissed Hayden’s lips, wordlessly letting him know everything was going to be okay. Noah had focused on calming the rest of the babies, softly humming as he adjusted blankets and stroked tiny cheeks. Kevin and Peter had already drifted back into sleep while Cole and Hale squirmed restlessly.

Once the six babies had finished nursing, Jake and Noah carefully took Kevin and Peter to burp them over their shoulders, gently patting their backs while Hayden lay back, breathless and overwhelmed. Being a pregnant man was hard enough; having six newborns while still massively pregnant was a whole new level of challenge. At least Jake knew what to do and could teach Noah how to help Hayden.

Then, as they enjoyed a quiet moment, Mrs. Klein knocked at the door and entered. “Morning, Hayden,” she said gently, “I know you must be tired, but there’s a young man here to see you. He says his name is James.”

Hayden’s heart stopped. He looked at Jake, who raised his eyebrows and tilted his head. “Morning, Mom. I need to clean up a little before he comes in,” Hayden said after a moment. “Ask him to wait for a few minutes, please.”

Mrs. Klein nodded and left. Noah and Jake placed the now-dozing babies back in their cribs, and then Noah gave Hayden a gentle pat on the arm and left.

“Are you sure you’re ready for this?” Jake asked.

“It’s all cool. But help me get decent enough,” Hayden said, frowning.

Jake wrapped an arm around Hayden’s back and helped him shift his legs to the floor, making Hayden groan. ”You okay?”

“I feel like a semi-truck ran me over, so no, I’m not okay. But I’ll survive. And I’m lighter,” Hayden responded as he adjusted to his new weight and belly size.

Hayden was still enormous, but his belly no longer looked ready to burst. It hung forward, heavy and low, with slightly loosened skin. He was indeed lighter but still looked more pregnant than any person he had ever seen.

Jake led him slowly to the bathroom, supporting most of his weight even though Hayden was 3 inches taller and about 200 pounds heavier. Hayden waddled awkwardly because every joint was sore. Then, when they entered the bathroom, Jake helped him stand on the scale. The number blinked up: 395 lbs.

Hayden sighed. “Eighty pounds lost between babies, blood, and everything else. And I’m still a walking planet that’s only getting bigger in the coming weeks.”

Jake kissed Hayden’s shoulder. “You’re beautiful.”

Hayden chuckled as Jake helped him sit on a stool. “Yeah, you say it because this is partly your fault,” he said, groaning again as every muscle protested the position.

Jake grinned, dipping the soft sponge into the basin of warm water, and began the tender sponge bath. He started at Hayden’s shoulders, easing the knots of tension there. Jake worked slowly down Hayden’s arms, moving the sponge over sore biceps and trembling forearms.

“What do you think about James being here?” Jake asked quietly.

“He deserves to meet the boys. I guess. But you’re the one who was here, Jake. You’re their dad,” Hayden responded, aware of Jake’s nervousness.

Jake nodded, clearly relieved to hear it again. He was the dad. “Thanks.”

When Jake reached Hayden’s chest with the sponge, he paused. The young man’s chest was impossibly full and heavy with milk, even though he had just fed the six babies. The skin stretched tight and slightly veined, making it look like it might burst. Jake gently cupped one side, moving the sponge in slow circles. Hayden shivered at the sensation as his nipples instantly stiffened from the sensitivity.

“They’re sensitive,” Hayden said, softly gasping.

“Yeah,” Jake said, smirking. “I can tell.”

He continued with love and care, rinsing Hayden’s tits with a second cloth as the water trailed down the curve of Hayden’s distended belly. Jake gently cleaned the surface, moving the sponge over the glistening midsection. The belly button protruded like a golf ball, tender and taut, the skin pink and sensitive. Hayden winced slightly when Jake brushed over it.

“Sorry,” Jake said softly.

“It’s okay. Everything’s tender.”

Jake knelt and moved to Hayden’s hips, washing along the wide curves that flared out on either side of his body. The joints beneath were still sore. He continued down Hayden’s thick thighs—quivering slightly as they bore his weight on the stool—carefully lifting one leg at a time, cleaning around the inner thighs.

As Jake knelt lower, Hayden shifted uncomfortably. “Ugh! Be careful. Everything down there feels bruised.”

“I know,” Jake said gently. He dipped the cloth again, carefully moving as he washed between Hayden’s legs. Hayden’s cock had swollen with the stimulation and pressure—throbbing and hard, a side effect of the hormonal overflow. Jake couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight. “Well, someone’s awake.”

Hayden grinned as his cheeks flushed. “Don’t you dare to tease me! It’s the hormones, the pressure, and everything.”

Jake smiled and leaned in to kiss Hayden’s abdomen. “I know. It’s not the best moment, but maybe I can give you a hand later. Or my lips.”

Hayden rolled his eyes but nodded. Jake delicately cleaned the length of Hayden’s erection, taking special care around the head where sensitivity made Hayden moan softly. Below, Hayden’s balls hung heavy, overfilled with cum. Jake supported them gently, rinsing and cleaning with slow strokes, mindful of the swelling and tenderness.

“Oh, fuck! Don’t do that!” Hayden said, moaning. “Or keep going! I don’t know what I want anymore.”

Jake laughed and left the bull balls. “I’m almost done.”

When the sponge bath was finally complete, Hayden looked cleaner, calmer, and slightly more relaxed, though the soreness lingered in every breath and movement. Jake wrapped him in a warm towel, kissing his forehead.

“Let’s get you dressed and back to bed. You’ve got an audience coming soon,” Jake said, playfully moving his hands over the side of Hayden’s belly and down to his hips.

Once back in the bedroom, Jake helped Hayden put on the biggest pair of sweatpants he owned. They were still tight around his massive hips and ass but provided some comfort. Then, Jake helped him to the bed to wait for James.

Mrs. Klein returned a while later, followed by a nervous-looking James. She left, and James stopped just inside the door as his eyes widened at the sight of Hayden, Jake, and the six cribs surrounding the bed.

“Hey, Hayden, Jake. I… I’m sorry,” James said, his voice cracking a bit. “I should’ve come sooner. I was scared. But I want to help.”

Hayden sighed. “You were scared. I understand. But the babies are here now. And I need people who won’t run.”

“I won’t run anymore. I want to be here. Even though I know you’re with Jake,” James said, clearly regretful of his actions.

Jake stepped forward, friendly patting James’ shoulder. “Then be here. But understand this—I’m not going anywhere.”

James nodded, aware he had lost the chance to be with Hayden. “I get it. I’m glad they have you. But I want to be part of their lives.”

Hayden sighed and grinned. “It’s all good. So, do you want to meet them?”

James nodded, and Jake carefully lifted Hale and Cole from their cribs. He turned to James, whose hands hovered in midair, clearly uncertain.

“Here,” Jake said, positioning the babies so James could take them. “Support their heads—like this.”

James nodded nervously, and his hands trembled slightly as he followed Jake’s instructions. His hands seemed awkward and oversized next to the tiny, fragile babies. He cradled Hale first, then Cole, swallowing hard as their small faces blinked at him.

“There you go,” Jake said kindly. “You’re a big guy with big arms to hold the six of them.”

James stared down at the babies, his mouth slightly open and eyes flooded with tears. “They’re so small,” he whispered. “I didn’t think… I mean, I knew, but I didn’t know.”

Jake nodded, stepping back to allow James the space to sink into the moment. The big man broke down then, silent tears slipping down his cheeks as he stared at the sons he never expected to meet this way; he clutched them like the most precious thing he’d ever held.

Just then, Mr. Klein knocked. “Hey. I hope everything’s going great here. But the doctor is here. Hayden, your mom is explaining the situation downstairs.”

Hayden sighed. “Thanks, Dad. Let’s get it over with. But could you all be here with me? I didn’t like seeing the doctor alone back then.”

The doctor entered a moment later, with Mr. and Mrs. Klein and Noah, and his reaction was predictable—a stunned silence, then an awkward attempt at professionalism.

“Hayden, right? I… wow. Okay. Let’s begin,” the doctor said, evidently shocked. “Your mom told me a few things, but please describe what your previous doctor said.”

Hayden nodded. “He told me I have a womb, ovaries, and all the equipment that goes along connected to… my… you know… backside. Then things went wild, and he explained about superfetation. Ultrasounds revealed I had five batches of kids in my womb. They have different fathers and different gestational stages.”

The doctor blinked, clearly shaken. “That’s extraordinary. I’ll check on the babies first, and then we’ll see if everything’s okay in your body.”

He examined each baby, performing the full range of standard newborn assessments. One by one, he checked their eyes for clarity and responsiveness, gently shining a small penlight to observe pupil reaction. He listened to each infant’s chest with a stethoscope, furrowing his brow in concentration as he monitored their heartbeats and respiratory rhythms. The babies’ tiny bellies rose and fell under his hand, and he nodded approvingly.

He tested their reflexes and the strength of their grasp when he placed a finger in their little palms. He gently palpated each abdomen, checking for any signs of organ enlargement or distress. He weighed each baby, telling the numbers to Mrs. Klein, who recorded them in a small notebook. Then, he measured their lengths and head circumferences, comparing the data against charts he kept on his tablet.

“They’re as healthy as any newborns I’ve seen,” the doctor finally declared, adjusting his stethoscope around his neck. “Above average size and weight, even for singletons. For sextuplets, it’s remarkable. Someone’s been doing everything right,” he said, looking at Hayden. “Now, let’s check the dad.”

Hayden nodded slowly, easing himself back onto the pillows with Jake’s help. The doctor carefully approached, aware of how extraordinary Hayden’s condition was. He began with the basics—blood pressure, pulse, and reflexes. The cuff squeezed tight around Hayden’s swollen arm. His pulse fluttered under the doctor’s fingers, rapid but steady.

Next, the doctor reached for his stethoscope and leaned in to listen to Hayden’s heart and lungs. He was careful not to jostle the man’s chest too much, but even the light touch made Hayden wince. As the cold diaphragm pressed against the side of his chest, his nipples gave a sudden, involuntary twitch—overly sensitive from nursing and hormonal surges. A bead of milk welled up from one, then the other, trickling down the curve of his tits.

The doctor jerked back slightly. “That’s completely natural, I think.”

Hayden blushed, squeezing Jake’s hand.

Moving on, the doctor reached for Hayden’s belly. He palpated the massive dome with expert care, lightly pressing in systematic quadrants, watching Hayden’s face for signs of pain. The belly shifted with every breath, and the skin was hot to the touch.

“Tender here?” the doctor asked, pressing above Hayden’s navel.

Hayden nodded. “I’m sore everywhere, honestly.”

The doctor frowned thoughtfully but didn’t push too hard. “Some distension is normal given your uterine size. But I’m impressed by how well the musculature is holding.” He paused, scanning Hayden’s hips and lower abdomen. “May I check the opening where the babies came from? I must ensure there aren’t tears or bruises.”

Hayden flushed but nodded. Mr. and Mrs. Klein took Noah out of the room. James stayed frozen and pale while Jake helped Hayden slowly undress and spread his legs.

The doctor got between Hayden’s swollen thighs and carefully examined the area, inspecting the perineum and the area around Hayden’s hole. He moved his fingers around the still-swollen area, marveling at how tight it looked despite how much it must have stretched to let the babies out.

“You’re healing beautifully,” the doctor said. “No signs of tearing or infection. Your tissues have remarkable elasticity—perhaps from prior adaptations. May I?” He said before sliding one finger into Hayden’s hole, forcing a long, shaky breath out of the young man’s mouth.

“Oh, my—” Hayden mumbled, shivering and closing his eyes.

“Does it hurt?” The doctor asked, removing his finger from Hayden’s body.

“No. It’s just sensitive.” Hayden blushed, aware that his reaction was far from pain.

“Okay. I guess that’s to be expected. Everything seems like you’re doing really well,” the doctor added before rising and removing his gloves.

Then, the doctor pulled out a portable ultrasound while Jake helped Hayden put on his sweatpants again. Mr. and Mrs. Klein returned with Noah, expectantly looking at the doctor preparing the ultrasound. The doctor spread cold gel over Hayden’s belly, making him wince, and pressed the wand over the stretched surface. The room fell silent.

The doctor slowly moved the wand around, checking for the babies according to what Hayden told him. First, he saw two babies at 32 weeks—Tyler’s twins. Then, he found two more at 24 weeks—Marcus’ twins. Then, two more at 20 weeks—Connor’s twins. And finally, four at 16—Jake’s quadruplets.

The doctor said they all looked healthy for their stages, assuring the family that everything seemed perfect even though Hayden’s condition was far from conventional. Hayden’s parents were relieved. Noah was happily looking at all the babies on the screen, but the then doctor frowned and moved the wand to focus on a specific spot.

“Hayden. Did you know there are four more? About 4 weeks along,” The doctor said, zooming in to show a group of early-developed embryos.

“What?!” The whole room shouted simultaneously as they turned to Hayden and Jake.

“4 weeks? You were home already 4 weeks ago,” Mr. Klein said, shocked and slightly angry at his son.

Hayden and Jake looked at each other. Noah’s eyes were wide with shock. Mrs. Klein brought her hand to cover her mouth in surprise. Mr. Klein was struggling to process the news. And James was pale, deeply regretting that he wasn’t the one who had gotten Hayden so immensely pregnant.

*

Hayden lay in bed hours later. He was still exhausted after pushing six babies out of his hole the night before, but today had been just as intense. The news of another set of babies, conceived on the night he and Jake arrived from college, had left him breathless. Between the six babies he had already given birth to and the fourteen he still had in his womb, he was about to become the daddy to twenty babies. He sighed every time the number echoed in his head.

The room smelled of powder and baby lotion. Hale and Cole stirred in their cribs, softly cooing and moving their tiny limbs. Jake sat beside Hayden in bed with Matt and Sawyer in his arms. James sat in a nearby chair, holding Kevin and Peter. Mrs. Klein stood beside the cribs, sighing deeply to stay composed. Mr. Klein stood near the doorway with his hands in his pockets, looking at Hayden’s belly, then at the babies, then at Jake.

They had all come to an agreement earlier in the afternoon. After some discussion, long silences, and a few teary-eyed apologies, James promised to be financially supportive of the sextuplets. His name might not have been in Hayden’s heart anymore, but he would be present in their children’s lives—as often as Hayden would allow.

“I’ll come see them often,” James said. “If that’s okay with you.”

Hayden nodded. “I want them to know you. But I need to raise them with Jake. He’ll be their dad because that’s what he’s been so far.”

James nodded. “I’m okay with that. But now I have to go. I’ll be back in a couple of days. But don’t hesitate to let me know if you need anything.”

He left the room with a quiet goodbye, followed by Mr. and Mrs. Klein. Hayden slumped back into the pillows with a long exhale. Jake leaned forward to take his hand.

“Are you okay?” Jake asked.

“I think so,” Hayden whispered. “I mean… no. But also, yes. I don’t know how to feel. Everything’s so overwhelming.”

Jake chuckled softly and kissed his hand. “We’re going to be okay. I know it sounds impossible, but we are.”

Hayden nodded slowly, then grunted as a sudden kick pushed outward above his belly button. “Ugh. I feel like a spaceship,” Hayden whispered, smiling faintly.

“You are a spaceship,” Jake teased, leaning to kiss the exposed skin. “A cute spaceship with a huge crew within.”

They laughed, but a knock at the door cut the moment short. It opened, and Mr. Klein poked his head in.

“Jake? Could I talk to you for a moment?”

Jake froze slightly but nodded. Hayden watched him go, nervously rubbing his belly. The babies within were active, reacting to his anxiety perhaps, or simply jostling for space. He could feel their tiny limbs squirming deep inside.

The door opened again a while later, and Jake reentered the room, his cheeks burning crimson, and he held a box clutched in both hands like it was radioactive.

Hayden blinked, then tilted his head. “What happened?”

Jake dropped onto the bed beside him, still red as a tomato. “Your dad, uh…” He hesitated, holding the box up. “He gave me this.”

Hayden gasped, then burst into laughter. It was a box of condoms. “What?!”

“Yeah. Your dad said, and I quote, ‘I’m not saying you two can’t be together. There’s no stopping that. But for the love of all things holy, please use these. We’re already about to need a second house to fit all these grandkids,’” Jake said, chuckling shamefully. “At least he told me I can move into this room to be with you 24/7. As long as I wear protection.”

Hayden laughed so hard that tears rolled down his cheeks. “Well, he might be right.”

Jake nodded miserably, but he couldn’t help laughing too. “He also said that they’re not kicking us out, but we need to start looking for a place of our own. Something with way more space to fit twenty babies.”

Hayden wiped his eyes, nodding. “That makes sense. We’ll need a mansion.”

Jake set the box aside and leaned in, lovingly cupping Hayden’s belly again. “Twenty babies. It sounds so cool.”

Hayden smiled despite everything. “We’re going to need more cribs.”

“And diapers. And bottles. And I think we’re going to need a van the size of a small cruise ship,” Jake added, resting his cheek against the side of Hayden’s belly and smiling as the babies kicked beneath his ear. “I can’t wait to meet the next batch, and then the next, and the next, and who knows… how does a seventh batch sound?” Jake said, and Hayden laughed.
