Snip to the TP Side Story Chapter 2

A beautiful day in New York city. Sun shinning, horns honking, and a speeding car blowing through the streets with Spider-Man chasing it. Just another day in the city.

The young time-displaced hero swings as fast as he can trying to catch up to the speeding vehicle and avoiding gunfire as he does so.

“Seriously?” the hero shouts as he propels himself forward to the speeding car, “You guys had to do this right now? You couldn’t have waited until later on in the day? Like say, after four?”

The car swerves violently, nearly clipping a taxi. Pedestrians scatter, their shouts of alarm mingling with the cacophony of the city. Spider-Man’s heart races, knowing he needs to end this chase before someone gets hurt.

With accurate aim, he fires a line at the back of the car and pulls himself to land on the roof. He then flips on to the hood of the car and waves at the masked criminals, “Hi! Can you stop breaking the law? I have an appointment I need to keep. Otherwise, I'm getting an earful from the American flag and a man who does not know the definition of hygiene.”

The response he got was one of them bringing out an Uzi to fire at the hero. But he was able to fire a web line at it and pull it from the crook’s hand. He then leaps into the air and fires a few globs at the tires of the car, bringing it to a sudden stop. Spider-Man lands gracefully on a nearby lamppost, crouching as he surveys the scene. The criminals stumble out of the vehicle, dazed but still determined to escape.

"Alright, fellas," Spider-Man quips, "I think we've all had enough excitement for one morning. How about we call it quits, and I treat you to some lovely accommodations courtesy of the NYPD? I hear they give you three meals a day and room and board."

They decide to try their luck in running on foot but the teenage hero fires another set of webbing at their feet and strings them up from the lamppost.

As he hears the sirens, the young teen rolls up his sleeve and looks at his cracked watch, “Shoot,” he mutters to himself, “He is gonna be so mad at me.”

Without wasting another second, he shoots a web and launches himself into the air, swinging through the concrete canyons of New York. The wind rushes past his masked face as he gracefully navigates between towering buildings as fast as he can. With a single destination in mind.

Minutes later, he lands with a soft thud on the rooftop of the Avengers Mansion. Peter looks around the area, “Professor Logan?” He calls out with some trepidation, “I know I’m a little late, but I swear I have a very good excuse.”

Not getting a response, Peter's shoulders sag as he remembers Logan's gruff warning from the day before. The words of warning from the smelly short man echo in his head.

"Listen up, kid. I ain't gonna wait around all day for you. You be here at 8 AM sharp, or I'm leavin' without ya. I got other students to deal with besides you.”

Peter had nodded eagerly, promising to be punctual. Now, as he stands on the empty rooftop, the weight of his tardiness settles in his stomach like a lead ball. He glances at his battered watch again, wincing at the time. 8:17 AM. Logan is a man a man of his word it seems. Which Peter respects but is also findind to be very sucky right now.
