My sister and I grew up with our parents taking us to the beach all the time. We each learnt to swim when we were about three years old and from then on swam pretty much every day through summer. We were definitely water babies.

A few weeks ago we went to see an Ocean Film Festival with 7 different short films. Some were rubbish but Broken Breathe above was a beautiful story. Some of the visuals were incredible too and I remember one shot right at the start and thinking "Can I interpret something like that for my exhibition?"

It's not going to be too much longer before we completely run out of warm weather and warm water here in Sydney so I need to get a model and get in the water quick smart. There are a few underwater and in-water shots I have planned for the exhibition but trying to find the right combination of opportunity and weather/water conditions is the tricky bit.

I'm absolutely determined to make it work though.
