How many is too many?
Added 2022-09-27 10:52:08 +0000 UTCWhen I see beautiful photos of groups of men I wonder "how?" quite a lot. Sure with photographers like Bruce Weber and Francois Rousseau they are paid shoots for famous photographers so it is easier. People are more reliable when they are being paid. Unfortunately that's not my situation so I have to work within model's schedules and my own. Coordinating a group of models is hard work.
The most I've ever shot in a single shoot is three models at once and trying to find models wanting to participate was tough enough but then getting them in the same place at the same time was even more challenging.
I'd love to do big shoots with several models but it is a daunting prospect. Every extra person is exponentially more to manage. There is a lot more chance that there will be someone blinking or in an awkward position. Maybe the challenges are why I'm creating scenes with multiple people by putting the same person in several times!
As you can see though, the results are fantastic when it comes together.
