Niko - Download

This beautiful human is a dancer who at the time was based in London and had around 80,000 followers on Instagram which I had been following enthusiastically for some time. So you can imagine how excited I was when he said he was coming to Sydney and agreed to do a shoot with me. This was the first of the two looks/downloads we created that day.
Originally released in 2019 through my website, it was a really popular series. Last year in lockdown I also experimented with the images to create a montage, which subsequently inspired the direction of the exhibition I'm working on.
Niko couldn't have been any more lovely to work with and hang out with. Not a trace of arrogance or rudeness, and also physically sublime, I ended up with quite a crush on him afterwards but that happens.
I asked Niko, when we had lunch after the shoot what his heritage was as he has one of those fabulous looks that could be a lot of things. It turns out he is German and Indonesian and boy did he get all the good stuff from both nationalities.
Fingers crossed one day I will get the chance to work with him again.
