I had photographed each of them a couple of times in really enjoyable shoots that ended up with beautiful images so of course I jumped at the chance of shooting them together.
I've noticed that when I'm posing models in duos, that unless the narrative that we've all agreed on has a power dynamic then I avoid keeping one person in a more dominant role. There were practical logistics at play in this shoot that did influence the poses. Chris, for instance is quite a bit bigger than Shon so it made sense for Chris to be the one lifting but to switch the power later on, I had Chris lying down with Shon sitting on him.
Also, Shon doesn't do full frontal so we had to work around that. Luckily Chris has no qualms about nudity so that made it slightly easier, although finding Instagram friendly shots from this shoot was a little tricky. Are Instagram OK with OTHER people covering someone's junk with their hand?
