How do I break into that world?
Added 2021-09-07 06:49:16 +0000 UTCThere is not a photographer alive that is known for celebrity portraits, that started out photographing celebrities. It just doesn't happen. Everyone learns their craft in other worlds of photography then somehow gets access to a celebrity. If it goes well, then they get the opportunity to photograph another celebrity and if THAT goes well, it leads to more.
Greg Williams is a photographer I hadn't heard of but recently discovered on Tiktok. He seems to get access to amazing celebrities shooting editorial for magazines, behind the scenes on movies and boy does he get some amazing images. Watching his tiktok he can go from asking Matt Damon to jump off a boat fully clothed at Canne Film Festival to having mere moments with a celebrity. His work is exquisite as you can see above.
The biggest name I have photographed is Alfie Arcuri, the winner of The Voice Australia 2016. He has had a handful of singles out but that is it. Maybe it's time to hit up some small record labels or something to see if I can get a foot in the door.
