Organising a group photo shoot can be hilarious and it can be awkward. This had the potential to be disastrous. These three guys were all good friends and two of them had a bit of a history together. We had had to postpone the shoot after I was injured and by the time we did the shoot the warmth of summer had passed and things were cooling down but we forged ahead.
Thankfully there had been some rain and as you can see there was plenty of water in this waterway. The sky was grey but the lighting was beautiful. In the end the models were all excellent and despite being a little cold there was no awkwardness.
As with lots of my outdoor shoots this happened early in the morning to avoid the chances of people stumbling across us even though this is in a fairly quiet part of the national park. There is a trail to the spot and it's an easy trail so you do get people there. In fact last time I shot there for an upcoming release, there were trail runners coming through so we chose our spot out of the way.
Lots of my models, being fit men who look after their body, want to look their best for a shoot so they eat very clean in the lead up and on the morning usually don't have much at all. So after this shoot we went straight to McDonalds for a big greasy breakfast to refuel and warm up.
This shoot was for my second exhibition, FREEDOM and one of my good mates actually bought the top image for this post. It's very humbling and flattering to see my work adorn the walls of my friends.
