A pleasant surprise

He was very much part of the cool crowd here in Sydney and that can sometimes mean that the guy is a bit arrogant. Thankfully that was very much NOT the case with Phoenix. He was a delight to photograph.
I'd put a call out on Facebook for someone with a pool and a friend said he and his husband have a small backyard pool, almost like a plunge pool that we could use. The lighting was absolutely beautiful. Some dappled light through the overhanging trees and reflected light off the water combined in a beautiful way to highlight all of the natural gorgeousness that is the model.
Phoenix asked if I wanted him to put some oil on and when you have a model with beautiful olive skin and not a lot of hair, the answer is probably yes. It adds just a light sheen to the body and definition to the muscles. He actually didn't bring oil, but if you look at behind him in the photo where he is seated in the water on the steps, you can see a bottle of Pjur lube. That's what he used. It worked a treat.
He's back in Sydney after a couple of years in London. For how long I do not know but I do know I would love to work with him again.
