In the 16 years that I've been photographing male nudes (to the day actually, wow) but it's only been the last three years that I've turned it into a side hustle and sold downloads etc. The two exhibitions I had covered costs and that was about it but that was fine by me.
My biggest concern with turning photography into a business venture was always losing the passion for it by trying to earn a living from it. At the moment I'm still very lucky in that, because I have a full time job, photography is still a passion and I get to photograph exactly what I want, regardless of how it sells.
Having said all that, obviously I want to keep you, my supporters happy and at times I feel myself doing a shoot for the sake of it or being a bit less creative about a shoot and a bit more focused on photographing the model's junk because I know it will help. There is always a balance. I promise I'm going to keep trying to get that right for you. Artistic, beautiful and sexy.
