Can you feel it?
Added 2021-01-13 07:48:20 +0000 UTCThere are photo shoots that feel difficult and I come out of it not feeling optimistic about the results. Thankfully those are really rare. There are only about three photo shoots that I've done that I haven't ever released. Keeping up the schedule of releasing regular downloads does add a little pressure and sometimes forces me to lower my standards slightly.
Every now and then in the middle of the shoot, the electricity is palpable and you can feel that the shots are coming out well. Sometimes it's just a portion of the shoot but sometimes the whole thing practically sings.
All of the photos above are photos that I could feel were going well at the time. There are great memories attached to these images. The main photo of Timothy draped in fabric is possibly my favourite of all the images I've ever taken but I won't commit to a single favourite.
The photo of Fabian with the red body paint on his head and jaw is a bitter sweet image. That shoot was part of my Tribe exhibition series but sadly two months after the shoot Fabian passed away in a tragic accident.
Let's hope that I keep having those special moments on shoots for years to come!
