In a few short weeks it will be the 10th anniversary of my first solo gallery exhibition opening to the public. As I said in my recent Q&A video, I have been thinking about the possibility of working towards another gallery exhibition. After Shrouded, I had another solo exhibition two years later and then in the 5-6 years after that I took part in two group exhibitions and also had another solo series that I launched live on twitter.
Launching a gallery exhibition is expensive and to be honest I don't know that many people are in the market for nude photography to actually put on their walls. It's a process that is fun to work through, developing a theme, shooting, printing, framing etc. It is a terrifying experience having lots of family, friends and members of the public in the room giving you immediate feedback when you release it to the wild.
Shrouded was all about my insecurities and how we all put up barriers or wear masks to keep ourselves safe from judgement or discrimination at times. Maybe not everyone at the opening actually realised what that theme was but it was still incredibly nerve wracking.
This download includes some of the other images from the shoots for this exhibition that didn't actually make the gallery exhibition. I hope you enjoy the full download attached.
