There is something beautiful about a nude man in water. For me it is the epitome of freedom. Maybe it's the weightlessness we feel in water or maybe it's a comfort thing from my childhood where I spent so much time in the water.
In a conversation I recently had with one of my friends and model Nathan about doing another shoot, he raised the idea of something under water. Now, underwater housings for cameras start at over $1,000 and work their way very quickly up from there. I have always loved the idea of doing shoots in water so I did some research and came across a company called GDome, making underwater housings for phones at a fraction of the cost of the other ones. So as an experiment I ordered one. The beautiful feature of the GDome is the domed front so that you can capture those great shots with half the shot above the water and half below.
In a beautiful surprise, it arrived today, less than a week after I ordered it. Who knows when I'll get to try it but I do have a couple of shoots in the near future that it could be handy to have along. If this becomes a popular and fun way to do shoots, I may just save up and invest in one of the housings for my other camera.
