Unexpected question

Whenever I do an "Ask me a question" on Instagram stories I have to brace myself because I never know what I'm going to be asked. It was a given that someone would ask for frontal images of my models but that will never happen on my Instagram. I'm not going to get myself banned for someone's gratification.

An unexpected question though which has cropped up a few times is whether or not I'm nude on a photo shoot. At first I got indignant thinking "That would be inappropriate". There is no need for me to be nude. Other people don't do their jobs nude, why should I? But then I thought about it and there have actually been a few times when yes, I've been nude when I'm doing a photo shoot. A lot of people know me as a nudist anyway so the question isn't that silly I guess.

On the shoot above, I was on a nude camping weekend with friends and Tom and I had organised that I would photograph him while we were camping. It was our second collaboration as photographer and model. There was absolutely no need for me to put on clothes for this shoot. We are mates who were camping nude and spending the entire weekend nude so getting dressed would have been silly.

There was also another shoot I did with a nudist mate one day when we were spending the day at the nude beach and planned to do shots throughout the day, so again, on that occasion yes I was nude.

Generally as a rule though, no, I'm not nude. A lot of my models have not posed before, or they don't know me before the shoot. Not only would it be unprofessional for me to strip off for the shoot it would make them quite uncomfortable I imagine. There is a vulnerability in posing nude for a photographer and as the photographer I am in the more powerful position and I have no desire to abuse that power or break my models' trust.
