Andrew's Paper Kites

There have been a few shoots where in the middle of it I've thought to myself "I really should have tested this". This shoot with Andrew was one of those shoots. It was the middle of Winter here in Australia but Andrew was visiting from interstate and he was brave enough to get naked for a shoot. The location was a peninsula and on the day it turned out there were golfers playing 100m away in one direction and below the cliffs where Andrew was standing naked were fisherman trying to catch their dinner. They didn't seem phased by the naked man on the cliff above them.

If they'd looked up they would have seen that I am no master when it comes to making a paper kite. I'm sure there are youtube tutorials aplenty on how to make a kite that has a chance in hell of flying, but I hadn't watched a single one. Instead of sailing majestically into the sky, the kite whipped and flailed in the high winds, never getting more than a few metres away from poor Andrew, who was cold but laughing his head off at the disaster that was my kite making.

I have never released an image from this shoot where Andrew isn't just holding the kite. The shots are ok but it just didn't work the way I wanted it to.
