The process started with me doodling around in CSP to kind of play around with poses with Fudo and her Cub. I ended up illustrating all of them and adjusted the canvas to each sketches' maximum size so that I can crop the images later in the importing process.
As I worked with each drawing, I wanted to utilize a different coloring style for each one:
- The front pose uses my current coloring style of flat shading with gradients and highlights,
- The staring one utilizes the same style, but is used with a rough shade brush tool to create more feathered edges,
- The wall drawing is just straight flats and simple shading with no gradients or feathering, and-
- The back pose is an attempt on a more painterly-esque style, but still closer to my simple style of coloring.
The back pose illustration had to be done redone twice as I wasn't really satisfied with my attempts of making it painterly, mostly with the hair. It's just something I have to study on when coloring future projects.
