For Me - Pt 7

For ‘Lauren’, it didn’t take too long to re-dress in what she’d already chosen to wear; the same blouse and slacks, the heels and the accessories.

As she clipped her final bracelet into place, she glanced over at ‘Anna’. Her friend was carefully slipping her arms into the leather jacket one of them had arrived in.

“Don’t forget the collar,” Lauren said with a grin. “It really ties the outfit together.”

“Right, yes, of course,” Anna said. She found the spiked dog collar and carefully fastened it around her neck. “How does this look?”

Lauren sized her up. “Pretty good. How’s the t-shirt fit?”

“Like it’s supposed to fit me,” Anna said with a grin. “The pants feel a little tight, though.”

“They’re supposed to be. I—sorry, you like them tight.” Lauren winked in a very un-Lauren way.

Beneath the mask of Anna’s face, the real Lauren felt a wave of arousal from ‘Lauren’s’ acknowledgement that she was legitimate; that Lauren was Anna now.

“Well, as we’re all dressed up, why don’t we get a drink?” Lauren said. “Maybe watch some TV?”

“Sounds… good,” Anna said tentatively, fairly sure that both of those activities were ones she should like. “I didn’t think you were a TV person,” she added.

Lauren raised an eyebrow, seemingly taken off-guard. “All depends… on what I watch,” she said. “I know there’s a new documentary series on—uh—European history I’ve been meaning to catch up on.”

“Right, right,” Anna said. “I’ve been looking forward to the premiere of… that reality show everyone’s talking about.”

Lauren met her eye, and suddenly burst out laughing. “God, both of us need to work on our specific details! A ‘reality show’? Pick one, for god’s sake!”

“You can talk! A ‘documentary series’? You can’t name one?”

Lauren shook her head. “You don’t even watch TV, you liar. You were trying to trick me.”

Anna shrugged. “You’ve got to be able to think on your feet if you’re going to be here when Joseph comes home tomorrow.”

Lauren smiled. “Are you saying what I think you’re saying?”

Anna cast her eyes down, but then admitted it. “Yeah, I think I am. If you want to stay being me for a while… that’s okay.”

“You’re sure?” Lauren said. “This means I’ll have to… sleep with Joseph.”

Anna paused, but then nodded her confirmation. “Sleep with. You don’t ‘have’ to do anything else.”

Lauren held up her hand. “I solemnly swear—”

“Yeah, yeah,” Anna said. “Just don’t ruin him forever, okay?”

Laura smirked. “Maybe you already ruined him for me, girlfriend.”

Anna’s smile was timid. “When do you think we switch back? It can’t be too long. Oh—what about my wedding dress fitting this week? You were going to come to that anyway right?”

“What, you want to pull a switcheroo in the dressing room?”

“Am I crazy?”

“No more than I am,” Lauren said with a laugh. “Sounds like a date to me.”

“Don’t get any ideas about the dress, either! I spent a long time making a lot of decisions on it!”

Lauren laughed, rolling her eyes in fake mockery. “Sheesh, give me some credit.” Then she grinned from ear to ear. “Girl, you have no idea how much this means. I’m so excited!” She leapt forward, suddenly embracing Anna in a hug so strong it threatened to squeeze the life from her.

Anna returned the hug, with perhaps a little less effort, but still with meaning. Beneath the mask of her best friend’s face, Lauren was just as excited to explore Anna’s life—even if it hadn’t been planned—as Anna was to become Lauren.

As she stood there thinking of the next few days, ‘Anna’ once again noticed something off about ‘Lauren’, and this time, it wasn’t the shape of her body. “I know this sounds weird,” she said, “but you’re standing wrong.”

“I am?”

“Yeah. Maybe we should go over a few things? Just to make sure we both know… what we’re supposed to know. Make sense?”

Lauren smiled. “More than happy to, babe.”

‘Anna’ led ‘Lauren’ back through the apartment until they came to the living room once again. It felt strange to Lauren that she was back here, but their roles had been reversed.

As if to emphasize the swap, she sat on the couch and put her feet on the coffee table, just as the real Anna had earlier that evening, even though Anna had actually been masked as Lauren at the time.

She’d been wondering where to start. It was hard to pinpoint exactly what sort of information you should give someone to help them pretend to be you.

“You said something about how I was standing?” Anna-as-Lauren said from the other couch.

“Oh! Right. Well.” Lauren stood and stepped to the side, then stood with her hands by her side. “Remember, I went to finishing school. Unfortunately, that was drilled into me since I was a teenager. It means I stand a certain way, walk a certain way.”

“Hang on,” Anna said, getting up to stand next to Lauren. “Okay, go ahead.”

Lauren stood a little taller, lifting her head, focusing her core muscles. “See what I’m doing? It’s sort of like, well… walking like everyone else is a bit less than you.”

Anna giggled. “Impressive self-awareness there, babe.”

“That’s another thing; you can’t keep saying ‘babe’. I don’t do that.” Saying those words in Anna’s voice felt more than a little weird to Lauren, but it was true.

“Good point. Okay, let me get this.”

Anna looked carefully at Lauren’s stance and did her best to imitate it. “How’s that?”

Lauren made a couple of minor adjustments, touching Anna here and there. “That’s better. Now walk for me?”

“Like I’m trying on shoes,” Anna murmured, but she walked across the room under Lauren’s eye. After a couple of other suggestions, she walked back.

“Good,” Lauren said. “All you’ve got to do is keep doing that.” She sat back down on the couch. “Also it should be pretty obvious, I don’t do this.” She put her feet back on the coffee table, grinning. “I admit it, it’s sort of comfortable, but still not my thing.”

Anna nodded. “What else do I need to know?”

///

“You really think I need to know about this.”

The question sounded rhetorical, but Anna had placed a sly smile on the mask of Lauren’s face. Opposite her, Lauren was blushing slightly beneath the mask of Anna’s face, but she nodded regardless.

“I mean, if you’re sleeping together—” Lauren began.

“Yep, okay, sorry I asked. Please continue.”

They’d been through a lot already. Lauren’s phone password, because of course, they had to swap phones and hey, facial recognition didn’t always work. Cute names for respective boyfriends; “honey” and “smoochy” for Joseph, weirdly; “corazon” and “mi amor” for Ramon, appropriately. Preferred clothing for Anna at work. Preferred clothing for Lauren when out and about. The names of Lauren’s (daily!) cleaning crew, her occasional driver, her occasional security guy (a surprise to Anna; he was good) and identification for a dozen or so people who “might call” in her contacts book. By comparison, letting Lauren know the names of Anna’s half-dozen co-workers seemed anemic. And for the last half an hour, Lauren had been taking Anna through ‘their’ wardrobe, pointing out outfits that she liked until she’d finally come to this—bedroom attire.

Lauren placed another item of clothing on the coffee table between them, on top of the small pile that was already there. “If I’m not in the mood for my pajamas… sometimes I’ll wear this.”

It was a lace-edged teddy, delicate and silk-shiny. Even without taking a closer look, it was obvious to Anna that it was expensive as hell.

“Nice,” she said. “And he likes this?”

“Yeah, quite a bit,” Lauren replied. “I’d stick with the pajamas. To be safe.”

“Noted.”

“And finally, there’s this,” Lauren said, placing another item on the table.

It wasn’t a piece of clothing. It was, very clearly, a large vibrator.

“Oh my,” Anna said, curling Lauren’s face into a knowing smile. “We enjoy some toy time, do we?”

Lauren sighed. “This isn’t too likely,” she said, “but sometimes, if Joseph is tired but still—you know—”

“Horny?”

Again Lauren blushed invisibly, her embarrassment concealed behind Anna’s face. “Yeah, I guess so. If he’s feeling horny, but he’s tired, he’ll ask me to use this while he watches.”

“Really,” Anna said. She picked up the vibrator, which was long, heavy and thick. “You don’t mess around, do you?”

While Lauren’s blush wasn’t visible, her body language made her feelings clear. She practically curled up into the couch. “Well, it can be fun.”

“Again… noted.” She paused for a moment, a thought hitting her. “Um, very odd thing to ask but… what’s it like, for you? With that?”

Lauren’s eyes widened. “Um, good? I guess?”

“I sort of mean what are you like, I guess. Loud? Quiet? Shuddering? Screaming?”

“Oh.”

Lauren sat with that question for a moment. Did Anna need to know? Could Lauren even say? There was that one time….

She grabbed her phone and looked through old messages. After a moment, she passed the phone to Anna without a word.

Anna was looking at a video file, shot by Joseph if she had to guess. It had been edited, but it was pretty clear that Lauren was a consenting participant.

On screen, Lauren was propped up at the end of her bed, clad only in another silk teddy, her legs parted. In one hand she held the same vibrator that was on the coffee table between them. The other hand was pressed against her breast, before moving around the rest of her body as the vibrator buzzed insistently between her legs. She was moaning steadily, but wasn’t ready to cum quite yet from what Anna could tell.

“Ohhh, fuck,” Lauren said on screen. “That feels so good…”

“Ohhh, fuck—that feels so good,” Anna repeated in Lauren’s voice.

“What are you doing?” the real-life Lauren snapped.

“Sorry,” Anna said. “I was just, umm… making mental notes.”

“Well don’t,” Lauren said, snatching the phone back and turning the video off with a self-conscious finger stab.

“It could help if—you know.”

“I do know. I shouldn’t have shown you that.” She folded her arms, pulled her legs up beneath her. “Maybe this whole thing is a bad idea.”

They sat in silence for a moment. Eventually Anna got up and moved to Lauren’s side, feeling slightly dizzy as she saw ‘herself’ pouting, arms crossed.

“Do you really think that?” She eased herself into the couch next to Lauren. “If you do, we can just call this off. It’s been fun but I don’t want to fuck anything up. I know how important the wedding is.”

Lauren shook Anna’s head. Anna watched in fascination as unspoken emotions and thoughts crossed over her masked face, the tiniest movements being recreated by the mask. “I think in some ways, I want to do this because of the wedding. Does that make sense?”

“Absolutely, yeah. You wouldn’t be the first bride to get cold feet before the big day. Maybe the first bride to get to switch places with her maid of honor, that I can’t be sure of.”

Lauren chuckled at that. “No, we’re probably unique in that.”

“Look, if it’s Joseph you’re worried about, don’t be. I won’t lay a hand on him.”

“I’m more worried about him laying his hands on you. Whenever he gets back from trips like this, he usually wants to get into bed straight away.”

Anna thought for a moment. “Well, we could make that happen, couldn’t we? We’ll just wait until he’s here before we ‘switch’. He can come home, give you what you’ve been missing, then I can step in.”

“There’s still a couple of nights before my dress fitting, though.” Lauren put a fingernail in her mouth to chew it, realized it was actually Anna’s dark, lacquered nail and stopped herself.

“You wouldn’t be the first bride—hell the first woman—to have a ‘headache’ a couple of nights in a row. I can fend him off.” Anna put her arm around Lauren’s Anna-like shoulders. “Frankly I should be worried about you and my boy.”

“Ramon? That’s it, right?”

“Mmm-hmm,” Anna said, allowing a smile to form on Lauren’s face. “And girl… when that boy gets his horn on, watch out.”

Lauren felt a shiver go through her, nervous, but also in anticipation. “Can’t keep his hands off you, huh?”

“More like can’t keep his dick off me,” Anna said, then laughed at the sound of those words coming out of ‘Lauren’s’ mouth. “Sorry. Very un-Lauren of me.”

“Maybe you should be telling me what you wear to bed,” Lauren said. “I mean, I wouldn’t want to get caught out.”

Anna gave her double a long sideways glance. “Why Miss Hudson. Are you looking for one last roll in the hay before you’re finally married off to a good man?”

Once again, Lauren blushed beneath her mask. “No. I mean, it might be—no, no. I’m sure Ramon’s very nice—”

“Hot is the word you’re looking for.”

“Fine, hot. But he’s with you.”

“Remember what I said. We have a pretty casual relationship. If you want to fuck him, you can fuck him. It’s not like he’ll ever know, right?” She stood and beckoned grandly. “You have my permission to get laid, milady.”

Lauren shook her head and laughed. “The fact we’re even talking about this is insane.”

“Well you started it when you showed me your home porno. You could have just told me how you get down on a vibrator instead of showing me, you horny bitch.”

They both laughed at that. “Fine, fine. I got carried away, I don’t know what came over me,” Lauren said.

“Pretty sure I came over you,” Anna said. “Just like you came over me. I do feel very ‘queer’ all of a sudden.” She grinned. “How are you feeling right now, anyway? Pretty good, am I right?”

She was, Lauren had to admit, feeling pretty good. She nodded silently, feeling unable to really express all the feelings within her.

It was slowly beginning to dawn on Lauren just how much freedom ‘being’ Anna was going to give her in the next few days. Whatever she wanted to do, she could do it. She could walk around without being recognized, which happened far too often. She could leave her building without seeing a paparazzi raise a telephoto lens. She could go shopping. She could go to a bar. She could meet Ramon… and she could experience a life entirely unlike her own.

“Hello? Earth to Lauren?”

Lauren turned to her own face. “Sorry. I was… well, thinking about being you, I guess.” She glanced down at her clothing. “Or being me.”

“That’s the spirit,” Anna said. “Honestly for this to really work, you have to think as me, the same way I have to think as you. Think you can handle that?”

“Sure. Probably?”

Anna took Lauren’s hand. “Think of it as a meditation exercise, kind of. I know it sounds weird. Come with me and I’ll show you.”
