That's right.... we are doing it again!! Another nearly half an hour of adventure coming soon!
This time, my good friend Taiki and I escape the city for 4 days of straight camping with a bit of a caveat... We planned nearly nothing. The goal was to find everything on the road. All we knew is that we wanted to get away from Tokyo, and we wanted to avoid people at all costs!
And so we grabbed a car and left the city...

The first place we ended up was a place of magic.
But weather was not on our side in the least.
At least we were lucky enough to be surrounded by beauty.
(by the way... since finding this campsite, I have wanted to go back, but quite frankly just cant imagine myself driving those roads again lol. There were at least 2 spots we thought we were just going to roll right off the edge!)

Beauty....
After that first night of camping we set out to just capture and share beauty. We wanted to make the absolute best of the terrible situation we are in and try to capture a few spots without people that generally might be a little challenging to do had things been more normal.
We took it as a duty and a challenge to try and share these spots with everyone while we can. And so early in the morning we headed out to Tsumago Juku and some of the surrounding mountain areas.

Scale...
We happened to be nearby (well... just a few hours away from) a place that neither of us had visited, but we wanted that early morning light. We wanted the sun cutting through the trees, and again... felt that we probably had the best chance of experiencing the area empty with no people. So we headed towards Togakushi Shrine.
We found a local camp and set up for the night
but there was a nearby bridge that Taiki was dying to get a picture of
So we snuck away from the camsite late at night to do some exploring...

Worth It....
Quite honestly we didn't end up getting that much rest that night as we needed to get up before sunrise
But we made it out to Togakushi shrine with next to no people and it was VERY worth it~

Stumbling on Wow-ery
We hit the road again
This time for hours. And every minute was worth it.
After a brief stop at a nearby gorge to enjoy the water (only to get more water as we suddenly got rained on lol) we made our way out to some of the most beautiful roads I have ever seen in Japan.

The Burning Water...
The name of this place had us laughing... ShiriYaki (Butt Burn) onsen
They say that the people who originally found this random hot spring along a river, had stepped in, and instantly burned their butts.
This is a funny story.
We're doing that now... funny stories

This is but(t) a taste of everything to come in this months half-hour adventure Behind The Scenes, and what's more... is there will be a preview of something exciting hidden in the video (well... more like blatantly screaming in your face with large text and loud music. but lets say hidden because it creates that atmosphere of mystery!)
Video just around the corner!! See you all, real soon!
