(UPDATE) MDWY & ART CAREER

Hello,

so I've been thinking and I decided that I will only be doing one chapter of MDWY per month as I'm not able to sustain myself if I only focus on MDWY every month. If I'm able to sustain myself with Patreon by making MDWY chapters, then I will, but so long as I'm not able to, MDWY won't be my only priority.

I've mentioned opening up commissions on my social media, and it's something I'll have to test out and see if it's for me in the long run and if it can help with my financial situation too. I have to warn you all that my prices will be adjusted in reference to the minimum pay wage where I live. And I'll be increasing it as I do have some experience in art, I don't want to be underpaid nor do I want to increase or contribute to the underpricing of artists in the art community. I think it's important that we tip artists when we see they're underpricing.

There's also making games although this takes longer to come to fruition and I do know there's ways to fund it, but at my current level, I don't think I'll be asking for funds for it now. Maybe when I have more experience then I can open up a Kickstarter and so on for it. But I'll be posting my progress here for sure. And if the need arises, I can open up another patreon just for the game development, but for now I don't see why that would be necessary.

I do have an online store idea in mind, and I did not forget the t-shirt for my patrons of tier 4! I'll have to finish some collaborations first before I can sketch out the designs. Before opening up any stores, I'd like to focus on making more art that can be put in a store, as in high quality art. So I'll be focusing on making better art for now.

Then there's youtube, but it'd be mainly just videos of my art process, so I doubt I'll get much revenue, maybe through ads if I can. Oh, I can also show some of my game development process too! Youtube will be mainly a way to show how I do things and to build a community. There's discord too, with my friend's help, we're making a server specifically for my art, but I invite everyone to join and make friends and be creative together!

I did say I'd stream more, but for now I don't feel comfortable enough to stream. I'm more of a quiet artist haha, and if I do stream. It probably would just be music on top of my drawings and even then I get nervous knowing people are watching me draw. So videos are the way to go, well for now. It might change, who knows.

So yeah, this is my current plan for the remaining of this month and the next: 

1. Finish collaborations: Halloween and cyberpunk zine  (should be done by this week)

2. Work on platformer cyberpunk game designs, sketches and illustrations + test out pixel art (This week and two months or so for the yuri game jam 2020. I could use some of the art here for my commissions sheets) 

3. Finish Ch. 35 of MDWY (October) & Ch. 36 (November)

4. Writing and other stuff

As you can see, the cyberpunk game will be taking most of my time for the next two months, but I'll be able to do one chapter of MDWY each month for sure.
