Update 05.12.25

For your entertainment pleasure, I present to you an actual conversation I had with myself:

ME: “I should probably update my Patrons on everything that’s been going on.”

ALSO ME: “I did that already.  I brought it up on the Art Stream.”

ME: “How many people were at the Art Stream?”

ALSO ME: “Ten…I should probably update my Patrons.”

There is a lot going on that has cut into my drawing time.   Fortunately, I seem to have turned a corner and can finally get back to my regular schedule!

I don’t like complaining, but perhaps we can all find a laugh or two together.

Owning a house was supposed to make life easier.  I wasn’t excited about it being a fixer upper (I’m not much of a handyman), but with the help of friends and family, along with some very careful planning, we were confident we could do the house repairs on the weekend so it wouldn’t interfere with my work week.

We was so naive…

Our first big project was redoing the bedroom.  The optimistic estimate was we could get it done in three days.  The realistic estimate was a week.  It took four weeks.  Every step we just found more stuff that needed repair or replacing; wood rot, electrical, etc.

In the midst of the madness, our cat and office mascot Tatsu ate some hair ties and needed emergency surgery.  (He’s all better now!)

At this point we decided to take some time off from house repairs so I could catch up on the comic.

What fools we were…

Then the tariffs were announced and suddenly we needed to order the new windows immediately while we could still afford it.  With that, we were in the midst of the next house project. ^^;

Fast forward to today: the windows are ordered and will be here in a few weeks, giving me ample time to catch up on pages and finish commissions (he types with cautious optimism)!

First things first, The next three pages of BLACK LABEL are laid out and ready for detailing, but the next page needs to be reworked a little (needs two new panels).  Gonna see if I can get all three pages knocked out this week.

Art Streams will continue to be every Wednesday at 6pm PST.  I’d like to add a second morning stream, but I haven’t found a home for it in my schedule yet.  We’ll get there.
