Caribou Rack

Just a little project but I figured something people would enjoy seeing.
A friend of our gave us an old Caribou rack as he knew this was our wedding animal.
We felt so lucky to get such a treasure but wanted a proper way to display it. So we came up with this tribal like plaque to create an eye inspiring piece. My husband had a piece of cherry wood lying around. I sketched out the design so he use a router to carve it out. The spiral like pattern ended up with a more natural very rugged look, just what I wanted.
It was stained and painted with an almost glowing blue to emphasize our wedding and the winter solstice. With a bit of cloth and a small dream catcher it was finished and placed on the wall.
I'm so happy with how it turned out!
