2025-04-13 22:59:36 +0000 UTCIt’s funny because the producers have said that they cast Jennifer Aniston as Rachel because she had a sweetness to her that’s she brought through to the character. The sweetness that she brought to Rachel is what kept people from passing judgment on the more negative qualities, and I think it’s probably evident in the personalities of her sisters; they both definitely lack the sweet quality. And Rachel does have such a sweetness, so it was always clear to see what Ross loved about her right from the beginning, which David Schwimmer exemplified so gorgeously. It’s interesting though because I think you’re both experiencing the selfish personality without any softness and how unpleasant it is with your dislike of her sisters. It really shows how great of an actress Jennifer Aniston is because she made Rachel so layered that it helped her evolve beautifully in her character development.
