Joey's feelings could have been explored in another way, not with Rachel, nor with Monica, or Phoebe, but with another woman. It is quite clear that it was just to "fill space" until a supposed return of Ross and Rachel.

2024-11-13 08:59:43 +0000 UTCI loathe the Joey and Rachel storyline, mostly because I can't stand Joey. He's the least important character for me. I love Rachel and Ross, but not as a couple. I actually love them better as just friends. Lastly, I don't think David Schwimmer gets enough credit for his physical comedy. Not sure why he hasn't been more successful in other comedy shows because I think he's very talented. He's also a good director as he directed multiple episodes of this show.

I’m pretty sure I read somewhere before that one of the reasons why they just keep pushing Ross and Rachel apart in a way is because they felt it would be better for views. And that having them get back together would somehow have the opposite effect on ratings/views. Obviously it’s pretty ridiculous, though. And I do think that if Ross and Rachel were to get back together, this season—with Rachel literally being pregnant with their baby—would be the perfect time. But the writers for sure keep throwing obstacles in their way.

2024-10-25 03:18:35 +0000 UTCI figured Nick wouldn’t love this next storyline. Even the actors, Jennifer Aniston and Matt LeBlanc, weren’t fond of it. Personally, I don’t hate it. So I kinda agree with Cody lol. For one, I think it’s pretty realistic to show someone developing feelings for a close friend and I also liked that it gave Joey something a bit more serious, plot wise. But I do understand why most people dislike it. At this point in the show, I think there was just too much history between Ross and Rachel. I stand by the opinion though, that this could’ve been something interesting if it hadn’t been introduced so late in the show and if there hadn’t been so much relationship drama with two other characters lol.
