Thank you for acknowledging the directing! I’ve seen a few reactions to this show by now, and you are the only one who has mentioned Johan Renck’s work as director. I think he did outstanding work with this whole series! As horrifying as Chernobyl is/was (the show and the real event) I find it kinda cute that Cody is apparently rubbing off on you (you began your end comments with ”I gotta say”, just like Cody usually does).

It's reflective of the attitudes of the Soviet Union at the time. And everyone I know who has seen this feels incredibly frustrated by the pride and the the gaslighting and the denial of reality that is shown by the people in charge who refuse to believe what the workers telling them. I know *I* certainly did. I wanted to tear my hair out at the level of denial going on. And everyone I've seen react to this pretty much has similar reactions.
