Little Shop Of Horrors (1986) Full Reaction W/Video

Rocky horror was actually a poll winner back in October and he said he will watch it eventually haha. I have a good feeling that the music will be enjoyable for him. Maybe in the next week because he mentioned he’ll do more musicals.

Also, in terms of feedback, your reaction to this movie was VERY helpful, in that it solidified something for me.... If you thought THIS movie was one of the strangest/most unique movies you've ever seen then.... 'Rocky Horror Picture Show' is most likely just going to be too much for you to be able to 'go with the flow' on that one. I'm a pretty good go-with-the-flow type person when it comes to ridiculous plot elements or strange story execution, and Rocky Horror even fried MY brain the first time I watched it (in a 'WTF am I watching?!' kind of way). Prior to this I calculated only a 50/50 chance that you would like Rocky Horror. Now I'm thinking there's maybe only a 15 to 20% chance that you would like it. Of course I could wind up being wrong about that, but when it comes to 'strange', this movie and Rocky Horror aren't even in the same ballpark.... heck they're not even in the same solar system.

Not a big fan of this film. I watched it as a kid and enjoyed it but as an adult I really found it uninteresting and boring. It wasn’t what I remember. And I also found it a bit silly. I wouldn’t watch it again myself.

It seems like with musicals, the music itself is always the biggest selling point and either makes or breaks the movie for you Nick. So I was fairly confident that you would walk away at the very least liking this movie because I knew the songs were so good. Glad you enjoyed them. Some behind the scenes tidbits - first of all you're right, Ellen Green who plays Audrey is NOT the mother from Matilda. That was actress Embeth Davidtz who you've also seen in Schindler's List. Comedic actor Steve Martin played the Dentist boyfriend. ALL of Bill Murray's dialogue was improvised by him. Steve Martin would do his part and Bill would riff around him, and every take was different, all adlibed. The final 12 ft tall Audrey 2 puppet and its little singing fly traps needed as many as 60 puppet operators to execute the complex sequence. There were operators pulling levers and cables to operate all of the different parts. And although you may not have liked Seymour in the ending (which I kind of agree with - It's a part that I always found kind of 'meh'), you'd probably still prefer it to the movie's original ending, which had to be completely reshot because test audiences HATED what the original ending was - both Seymour and Audrey are killed and eaten by the plant and then multiple giant plants are seen attacking the city and basically taking over the world. If you're curious, the original ending is available to watch on YouTube and I'm sure once you post this, your YouTube comments are going to be flooded with people telling you about the original ending and telling you to check it out.

💜💜 Somehow I just KNEW when I gave you this month's options that this would be the movie you would pick. Can't wait to watch your reaction to this! Which I'll be doing right now...

Holly

Omg, I was gonna request this later down the road lol. Can’t wait to watch!
