This is such a feel-good comfort movie for me, happy that you loved it!
The 2017 and 2019 sequels are a lot of fun, though less "wholesome" lol, they're more comedic and less "family adventure", but worth watching for sure

The girl was played by Kirsten Dunst. As a kid she also played Claudia in Interview with a vampire and Amy in the 94 version of Little Women. As an adult she played Mary Jane in the old Spider-Man movies.

the "you're not a postal worker" line when Van Pelt was buying the gun (which is so actually accurate to the gun issue we have in this country) - the term "going postal" was birthed from this decade because from 1986 to 1993 there were 4 separate mass shooting incidents where someone entered post offices and shot up the workers and people.

him going to boarding school wasn't a punishment by the way, more like a tradition that the men have done in their families for generations, so more like an honor. I don't agree on sending him if he doesn't want to, but the point they were getting across is that it's actually an honor to go, and Alan, who isn't being seen by his dad properly is defying him knowing he won't like it. I think Alan is in the right to be honest, his dad wasn't giving him good advice in the beginning or actually listening to his needs. Their interaction in the end was the best thing ever.

I LOVE this movie....and seeing Robin Williams always makes me cry. He was the light and soul of comedy & kindness :) the game having a heartbeat was SO TERRIFYING when I was a kid. Something that was unexplained is that the game seemed to have sentience, and like it actively chose players as prey- it was pretty cool concept

this movie is such an amazing classic with a lot of heart. I'd highly recommend watching Jumanji: Welcome the Jungle. as a huge fan of the original Jumanji, I was pleasantly surprised with how good it actually was.

The girl who played Judy also played Mary Jane from Spider Man. I know you like the Spider-Man movies so I’m pretty sure you saw the one with tobey McGuire haha.
I used to play Jumanji on repeat as a kid and even bought the board game lol. Watching it as an adult really helped with the emotional scenes cause as a kid I didn’t relate to them cause they were too mature for me I guess.
Oh and don’t worry about the bugs. Most of us have the same fear of them haha.
