When my mom first saw this movie, she laughed out loud the first time Edna came on screen because she knew right away who it was based on 😆

She is strongly based on Edith Head, an American costume designer who won a record eight Academy Awards for Best Costume Design between 1949 and 1973, making her the most awarded woman in the Academy's History. Type her name into Google and just look at the pictures that come up and you'll see the very strong resemblance between her and the character they created.

2022-02-04 02:13:22 +0000 UTCI love this movie! and that scene with the plane getting shot down and Mrs. Incredible jumping back to protect her kids always gets me emotional. It was also a good way to subvert your expectations since you would think Violet would put a shield around the plane at the last second but NOPE! A really good example.

2022-02-01 09:46:31 +0000 UTCThe marriage in the beginning- I was also very confused for very long. They already knew each other, and like Elasticgirl said, it was "playful banter". In front of a robber they couldn't act like they actually knew each other, since they are superheros who need to maintain anonymity....only when he was knocked out did they flirt and do "playful banter" by saying they have a "previous engagement" as a reminder they are getting married that night.
